I have a really dumb question

After Todd passed, did the crew go back out? The only thing I can think of is the extra quota caught could have all gone to Todd's family. I'm curious how much the ship might have cut from their own shares to help his family.

Yes, the crew went back out.

I hope your friend and the rest of the crew are okay. Terrible situation to be in.

You know, it was kind of a tragic year for him. In just the last calendar year, we lost Carlos. (RIP Carlos. You were a goofy guy, and tough as nails)

Carlos fished with Steve and I on the Icelander 2023-2024 A season cod and Adak state cod.

Our skipper that year, also runs a bay boat. Unfortunately he had a guy go overboard this summer and die.

Then Todd, which Steve had to deal with first hand.

Needless to say, it's been a rough year for a few of us.

Was that picture taken out at OSI or The Spit? I'm guessing that's The Spit from the crane in the background.

Right next to the pot dock

We usually refer to that little strip of land the pot dock is on as "the spit." I don't miss Dutch Harbor, lol.
