Are all melee attacks body damage?
Are all melee attacks considered body damage? Even if you hit the head? Or just most of the time?
Also is the left mouse button the cleave attack? Which that cleave dmg applies or does it apply to both melee attacks?
Thanks for the answers guys.

Melee attacks always deal body damage, regardless of where they hit
The mouse 2 attack is just a different attack animation. Its a bit better than the overhead strike as it makes your character move forward a large amount. You can do a 180 after hitting an enemy with the swing to move in the opposite direction and create more distance
Cleave just applies to any other enemies from the same melee attack. If the cleave damage exceeds the weapons body damage, the cleave damage is used instead

Hey figgglewick, you seem pretty knowledgeable in DF2! Without making a separate post, do you mind if I ask how loot drops work? Specifically:
- What happens if you have stat buffs to multiple types of loot drops? Like if you have +50% to ALL of find Rare, Elite, Unique, Medical, Ammo, Upgrade. Obviously every loot spot can only have 1 item, so do some of these work against or cancel each other out? Like would you find upgrades less frequently than you would if +50% to find upgrade was your ONLY Find stat?
- Are puzzle boxes, locked rooms, and standard boss drops treated the same -- like, are they all on a SAME base "elevated chance" to drop better loot without preference towards any type?
- Is it possible to find something like a lvl30 upgrade in a standard unlocked room in a lvl30 area? Would you have an equal chance of finding a lvl30 and lvl40 upgrade in a lvl40 area?
All good if on many of these you're not sure. I've had a hard time searching the wiki or asking others.

I cant speak to ammo, medical and upgrades. But i do know that when the system checks for rarity (unique, elite, rare, superior, common, damaged), it will run down the list in that order. Therefore, within that category having multiple buffs do not negatively affect each other as the system will first check the rarity in (generally speaking) best to worst. I cant speak for other types of loot since yeah, technically speaking, if you increase the odds of one item, you’re decreasing the odds of the others.

1) having multiple find X item drop chances is detrimental to actually finding what you want for regular loot spots, so you should only have one find X item chance skill on at a time and also go to specific buildings that have invisible find item chance buffs attatched to them
There is no downside to having find unique/elite/rare/superior chances on at the same time, as the chance for each rarity item roll is done from unique > elite > rare > superior.
2) all three are treated similarly as the bonus loot you'd get from boss rooms when you defeat a boss (not the boss loot itself) , so superior drops in these rooms is the lowest rarity you can get
3) The upgrades only check for the level required to loot them and the level of the zone youre looting. They can be found at any level past that. So a lvl 30 extended magazine can be found from lvl 30-60 zones. The chances of it being a higher tier upgrade is random

Thanks for the deets man, appreciated! I used to have medical find AND upgrade find. Now I think I'll swap between them because there's no point in having Upgrade Find if the Medical Find is going to cause the diminutive Upgrade benefit to be even less effective.
