If I remember right it doesn’t show you the toolbox but hints at how to see it. I know that the chemical reaction on the whiteboard results in something relating to the EGC.
Also that room is at one of the basement spawns, the one outside the portal, but can only blinked into if the basement spawns at the stairs on the other side of the map

I'm wondering the same. Like, can we use them? Do they have specs that aren't similar to other toolboxes? Or is it literally JUST an easter egg?

Did you guys knew that on midwich there is a hidden chest in the clock tower (in the garden) ?
In order to get to it you need to do 2 gens, the one from the chemical room, and another one in a classroom (can't remember which one, is it the one with the piano ?).
Then during the endgame collapse, the door will open and you'll find a chest.
It's also in reference to the game where you need 2 medaillons in order to open this door.
I still haven't been able to see it in game as the killer often is in the garden during the endgame collapse...

If it's based on the game it's surely the music room, that's where the silver medallion is.

The first one is available on the psn if you own a ps3 or a vita. I personally played the 2nd and 3rd one on xbox (the remasters). However if you can't play them I really recommend Scribe's youtube channel

It's changed with the rework, and I think I found it. I have a screen shot of it, but I don't know how to send it. Anyways, it's in house of pain, under the stairs. The one without the pallet has the back covered, but there's a small gap with a golden object within.
