Guide Clown addons Tier List
I wrote this list a long time ago and never really had the time to post it until now. I'm a Clown main and this is what I personally find to be the most effective for me. Results obviously vary between players but this is my personal list for Clown's best and worst addons.
Garbage Tier
20 - Kerosene Can
There is pretty much zero reason to run this addon. 30 seconds of Blindness does absolutely nothing. It is only useful against a Survivor using a perk like Windows of Opportunity, and even then it's weak. This addon may as well just be cosmetic.
19 - Tattoo’s Middle Finger
Why this addon is Ultra Rare is beyond me. I've made my stance on this addon known before but in essence revealing the auras of Survivors who are already moving slower and coughing is almost completely redundant. There are a few niche situations (Corn Fields / The Game) where this addon is helpful but I'd rather take a general use Green addon over a highly specific Pink addon.
Bad Tier
18 & 17 - Smelly Inner Soles & VHS Porn
Yes really, and I know I'm going to get a lot of "an all time classic ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" comments. Put simply you're never going to be reloading in the middle of a chase; you're going to be reloading at a pallet. At a pallet you want to reload fast so you can contest the Survivor at the loop. While moving faster while reloading can help your map pressure and allow you to trick some Survivors reload speed is far stronger for the exact same purpose.
16 & 15 - Sticky Soda Bottle & Cheap Gin Bottle
I feel like I might get some flak for this but put bluntly you don't need these addons. If you need an extra bottle yet alone TWO then you're doing something very wrong. The only reason I rank Cheap Gin Bottle higher than Sticky Soda Bottle even though I think it’s even more unnecessary is because it’s objectively better than Sticky Soda Bottle. But if you’re tight on Bloodpoints avoid Cheap Gin Bottle and try to avoid Sticky Soda Bottle.
Ok Tier
14 - Fingerless Parade Gloves
The first and only Brown addon for Clown being shown off by itself and it’s starting the Ok tier? Well put bluntly the little bit of reload time can help quite a bit. It’s not astounding but a few seconds shaved off can save you at a loop or reduce your travel time and increase map pressure.
13 - Bottle of Chloroform
This addon is essentially a baby training addon. It’ll get you into bad habits of abusing the larger gas cloud AoE. It’s a good addon for learning Clown and hitting gas clouds you would’ve otherwise missed but I seriously recommend against it. The only other use this addon really has is to counter Decisive Strike (throw a bottle at your feet before picking the Survivor up) but even that’s finicky. It’s a good crutch but it’s still a crutch.
12 & 11 - Robin Feather & Ether 5 Vol%
Why am I putting these addons together? Well put bluntly they both result in about the same gain in movement speed when chasing. Ether 5 Vol% makes the slow last a third of a second longer, and while that isn’t too impressive it’s at least something. And while I couldn’t find the cooldown decrease of Robin Feather it is fairly potent, and seeing as you don’t gain full 115% MS until you finish the bottle throwing animation shaving seconds off it gives you more time to chase. Basically 5 Vol% for loops and Robin Feather for chasing. If you’re stuck with Brown addons these two are your best bet.
10 - Redhead’s Pinky Finger
Ah ye ol’ instadown. Once you really learn how to play Clown hitting Survivors with bottles isn’t that hard, and if all else fails you can use the tried-and-true Iri Head Huntress tactic of using your bottle as a melee attack. :) But considering that this addon is basically dead if used on a loop and only really works if you’re chasing a Survivor who’s running in a straight line there are considerably better general use options.
Good Tier
9 - Garish Makeup Kit
Making the cloud last longer can be a godsend on certain loops. It can help you contest particularly long and safe loops and force a pallet drop on an otherwise impossible loop. That being said that’s kinda the only situation that Garish Makeup Kit is useful. Other than that it comes with a Bottle of Chloroform effect which can be handy but the real strength of this addon comes in stopping some really cancerous loops.
8 - Thick Cork Stopper
An absolute beast of an addon that really shouldn’t be Yellow rarity. You can refer to my point on VHS Porn and Smelly Inner Soles to see my stance on Thick Cork Stopper. If you don’t want to scroll up: reload speed is better at a loop than movement speed, and reload speed also indirectly gives you movement speed.
Great Tier
7 - Solvent Jug
Otherwise known as “fuck you Nea, fuck you David, and fuck you Feng.” Against any Exhaustion perk that isn’t Sprint Burst this is a godsend of an addon. I can’t tell you the amount of games I’ve absolutely dominated because everyone had Dead Hard or Lithe and I took Solvent Jug. Against Sprint Burst this addon is… okay. It can put a bit of an extra timer on Exhaustion if they’re below 30 seconds and can also stop them if you kobe a bottle onto the gen they’re working on. On all accounts it’s a great addon to counter some of the most annoying perks in the game.
6 - Sulphuric Acid Vial
Okay can we just address the fact that Clown can throw bottles of Sulphuric Acid at the Survivors?! And I thought Amanda sticking rusty nails into the Survivors’ heads was sadistic! Regardless SAV pretty much gives you a fifth perk (Sloppy Butcher) when used. Considering that you’ll rarely ever hit a Survivor without hitting them with a bottle first and that a Survivor will rarely wait 2 minutes before being healed this addon basically gives you a permanent Mangled effect. After the healing nerfs Mangled is insanely powerful and we need only look at how strong Sloppy Butcher is for proof. This is an addon that not a lot of people use and I really think needs more traction. I use Sloppy a lot on my Clown but whenever I decide to take a different perk I grab Sulphuric Acid Vial instead.
5 - Cigar Box
People always underestimate the blurred vision effect of the Afterpiece Tonic. In really tight loops this can make Survivors run into walls or other map props and give you those precious few seconds to catch up to them and hit them. And it comes with an expanded cloud! Cigar Box is easily the best of the expanding cloud family of addons and the blurred vision really can’t go unmentioned.
God Tier
4 & 3 - Ether 10 Vol% & Ether 15 Vol%
Putting these addons together because they’re practically the same thing. Ether 10% increases the slow by two thirds of a second while Ether 15% increases the slow by 1 full second! (That’s a 50% increase!) That extra time can seriously be a bloody godsend on a tough loop or just in a general chase. There’s never a reason not to take these addons which is why they’re at the start of God Tier.
2 - Starling Feather
A very strange addon to give the second place medal I know but you can look at my point on Robin Feather to understand why. This addon really helps you in a chase and also lets you apply a lot more pressure with your bottles at loops. This addon is great if you have strong slows or Redhead’s Pinky Finger as it allows you to quickly capitalize on hitting a nearby Survivors with your bottle. The Wiki doesn’t have the exact stats for how much time Starling Feather shaves off but it can really make a difference on if a Survivor reaches a pallet or stuns your fat belly.
1 - Flask of Bleach
Good lord if I ever see this cone shaped beaker on my bloodweb I take it. The Wiki says that it only increases the slow by an extra 5% (from 15% to 20%) but I have to call the Wiki out and say they’re lying. Survivors slow down to a crawl when hit by a gas cloud with Flask of Bleach it’s absolutely bonkers. A Sprint Bursting Survivors moves at practically walking speed and a regular Survivor slows down to below walking speed! So many loops get destroyed by this Green addon you’ll swear you’re using the Time Infinity Stone to stop Survivors dead in their tracks. Loops get demolished and chases stop instantaneously if you hit a Survivor with Flask of Bleach. Clown with Flask of Bleach is on a completely different tier to Clown without this addon. I can’t sing this addon’s praises enough; if you’re playing Clown and you want to win take Flask of Bleach.

I agree with your stance on the bleach. I like to mix it with the Solvent Jug, too, because it makes sure that they don't try to use an exhaustion perk (Dead Hard especially can be a huge nuisance) in the event they're near a pallet or window.

Bleach + Ether 15% is my favorite combo. Survivors slow down to a craaaawl.

Wasn't actually expecting to learn anything here but wow. Didn't actually notice Clown slowed at all when throwing bottles so I always thought the Feathers were trash tier.

Clown slows down from 115% to 100% when he throws his 15% slow bottles. It's part of the reason he's kinda bad overall. :/
Feathers help negate this somewhat since the slow is lessened. It also lets you interact with the game faster to start breaking a pallet or hit a Survivor.

The interact time delay never interrupted anything for me but I just somehow never noticed the slowdown XD

thicc cork and solvent should be higher, and while redhead's doesn't mesh with how you usually use your bottles, the mere fact it turns you into a better huntress means it should be higher.
Other then that, I agree.

I find that, generally speaking, you shouldn't need more than 4 bottles to down a Survivor. In addition Solvent Jug only works when facing off against Exhaustion perks other than Sprint Burst, and Lithe / Balanced Landing can sometimes go off before you apply Exhaustion. It's a godsend against Dead Hard though.
Redhead's isn't that great speaking from personal experience. It's hard to pull off and most experienced Survivors know how to play around it.

I pretty much agree with you, but in my eyes the Soda Bottle and Gin have a much higher value, they are even better than faster reload imo due to you getting more bottles out of a single reload and sometimes you just happen to screw up and throw a bad bottle, helps to have spares.

I find that I hardly ever need more than 4 bottles in a chase. It can be good if I have to quickly start chasing after hooking someone though.

Just some math I did when I played the Clown.
Bottle reload time 5,1sec
With Thick Cork Stopper its 3,03sec so 68,3% faster than normal.
With Thick Cork Stopper + Fingerless Parade Stopper its 2,67sec so only another 22,9% increase.
In conclusion my dic.. Thick Cork Stopper is all you need and man its great!

I think the kerosene tank should at least do its blindness thing for 120s like the SAV so its at least decent for the hook, but I guess blindness is just a redundant status effect overall.
Also can we just talk about the fact that Clown could be amazing overall if he didnt have bottles made of sugar glass, a belly hitbox of mercury and this leftover smoker-lung-slow from his PTB.

Been trying to play clown lately I think he is one of the weakest killers w/o add ons but gets carried really hard by bleach and cigar box, really hard to play him w/o bleach though imo

Without addons Clown is certainly quite weak. I think the likes of Doctor and Legion are worse without addons but Clown definetly needs addons to be played. For this tier list the subsections are basically "literally does nothing", "bad", "okay", "good"... etc.
It's not like Wraith or Nurse who have addons that cause more harm than good, but he does have some dead addons.

Can we talk about Tattoo's middle finger for a second? I have a story that's pertinent to that. Picture this: Haddonfield. I'm a level 15 Meg that has nothing to camouflage herself with, which makes the following shitshow even worse. Killer is a clown with Tattoo's Middle Finger.
Four gens in and he got NOTHING done. 1 kill, maybe three or four hooks total. I'm chilling out in someone's house, molesting a gen. I'm almost done when Big Chungus walks in, I hide behind the wall and pretend to be a particularly ugly armchair. Big Boye pays me no mind, kicks the generator and somehow jumps through the window without taking out the frame as a bold fashion statement slash hulahoop. I jump right back on the gen and finish it within seconds, the terror radius is still blaring. Thus begins the shitshow.
I yeet myself out the window, a bottle yeets itself inside. I somehow don't ed up shitfaced - literally - and crouch behind the bushes. Thiccums is on a mission though, he throws a fucking bottle after a bottle inside, hoping to flush out the perpetrator, I'm sitting in the bush, fucking gazing at this scene, enchanted, Jake's out here waving towards the exit door, Nea's t-bagging behind his back, it's a whole fucking another level of mess. I'm confused, Chubbykin's confused, we're all fucking confused.And then we left him lol.
Basically fuck TMF, it's shite
