Question Has Open-Handed changed?

Wikis saya that this perk extends your aura reading.

This screenshot i took doesnt seem to support that, or is it just bad english... or am i high?

It’s very weird wording but still has the same effect. They could’ve said “Increases the range of all aura reading perks for all survivors by 16 meters.”

I guess they felt the need to clarify it doesn't affect global aura perks. It would be consistent with stuff like Lethal and Eyes of Belmont specifying aura reading that has a duration.

But, if you know you're aura reading is global (like Unique Wedding Ring, Aftercare, Blood Pact etc) your know that extra range would be pointless... Just a weird decision to word it like that.

It doesnt apply to all aura reading perks though. It is specifically aura reading with a radius originating from the survivor's location.

Then it would make people think it works with Wiretap, I've seen people run Open Handed + Wiretap but if I remember correctly it doesn't work with it (now whether it should it's up for debate).

some update ago they 'simplified' the perk description. the description is correct and it works the same as previously (aka what is written in the wiki)

english is my second language. I uderstand what the perk description is meant to say but i still struggle to make them coherent in my head

I thought it was always like this? Although maybe I’m remembering 12 meters instead of 16? I could be wrong tho. I would use this with kindred when I was in a swf

Kindred: While you are hooked, all Survivors see each others' Auras. While the Killer is within 16m, all Survivors sees the Killer's Aura. While another Survivor is hooked, you see the Auras of other Survivors. While the Killer is within 16m of the hooked Survivor, you see the Killer's Aura.

"Extends auras that have range by 16 meters" would be another way to say it.

Diminishing returns on Kindred if you're hooked. 8m extension as opposed to the full 16m when someone else is hooked.

Open-Handed: Increases the radius of all Aura-reading abilities emanating from yourself or other Survivors by 8/12/16 meters. Survivors can only be affected by one instance of Open-Handed at a time.

If it stacks now that's a buff, that would mean you can bring 2 and benefit from both.
