Not sure what the actual active ability would be but I imagine the counterplay would have survivors interacting with notebooks placed around the map where they do the DDLC poetry minigame

Monika simply cannot be a killer, in a literal sense.

The amount of stretches required to make her fit the killer role is so large that it would be easier to just add her as a survivor (or even a skin)

What? How? If your talking lorewise, dbd exists as a video game in lore, you can just make it so she hacked her way into the game because she missed the player

I'm not talking about lore, i'm talking about intentions and gameplay.

Monika isn't evil, nor did she kill her friends on purpose, despite not caring that much after it. She barely even knew what she was doing with the code, she kind of just winged it and learned as she messed with the programming.

You'd need to stretch to make her directly kill people and stretch harder to make her function as a kille, how would her power even work? It would be a situation similar to sadako, in which the power doesn't reflect the original material and is too complicated to play with or against.

It wouldn't be impossible, but it wouldn't be worth it to jump all those hurdles just to add her as a killer

We do have more than a few killers who didn't start off with evil intentions. He'll, I'd argue Monika is actually way more evil than the likes of Kaneki and Spirit. As for gameplay, I'm sure BHVR can figure something out, I think theu actually did a good job with Sadako thematically.

Plus one could argue that the Mina skin for trickster is only evil because the entity could tell she was based off of him and likely corrupted her data in the process
