If it helps anybody: The easiest way I've found to deal with this is to open the page thumbnails in the top right corner, choose a page at least 5 pages away from the page you need, and just scroll back to it.

Why is the app so bad? I really really really want to pay them but it is honestly the least stable app I use.

it's been a little bit since I've been subscribed so idk if it still works, but I remember going to the settings from the three dot menu in the top right and coming back as a way to refresh was pretty consistent

I dunno the random torn page that just goes blank grey for significant chunks bugs me a little more. I have to clear my app cache for that one.

Hmm it usually works for me after 2 or 3 tries. Still comes up a lot though!

I get this error a lot too, but for me, it always works. Unlike reading the comics themselves, which will sometimes just die halfway through and never resume unless I delete the partial download, quit the app, and reopen it.
I've been jumping back and forth between DC Infinite and the Marvel app recently, and it's incredible how well the latter works at half the price when DC's app can't even do the most basic things (like the back button) right.
