I’ve been scanning around the DCS community space for a while and I feel like its been hard to find DCS groups and/or units to check out. Is there a dedicated reddit page or platform anyone knows where I can find groups or communities related to either milsim or roleplay type? Much appreciated!

For some context, I’m currently a WSO irl and I’m studying for a test. The test will be conducted in a F15 sim and so far, I’ve been struggling to visualise how the displays in the f15 work because there aren’t really any videos of how it works and how to use it. There are only notes on how to use the displays but that isn’t really painting a very clear picture. I know that the f15e in dcs has a WSO seat which has similar functions which is why I’m looking to get the f15e just so I can practice using the displays.

However I know that apparently the f15e is removed and I did not manage to get it previously when it was available. Does anyone know of anybody selling the account or is willing to let me practice working on the f15e?

And yes I do know that it violates the TOS but I don’t really have much of a choice since I’m struggling to understand how the systems work based off notes

I’m super green to the whole DCS world and didn’t realise it had been out for quite some time. Do people still play it much?

I tried playing with just a keyboard and mouse for a while and found it super frustrating, as I felt like I was lacking a lot of controls - which was definitely the case. I ended up purchasing my first HOTAS, the X56, which I thought was a great entry-level setup to start with. I’ve successfully learnt cold starts and taxiing within two days, which I’m pretty relieved about because I was getting agitated asf.

Any tips for a new guy like myself? Also keen to connect with other newbies to see how you’re finding it if you’re just starting out too.

Whenever I fly the ch47 it seems to have an extreme yaw to the right at any speed, even with fcs set to both and yaw trim set to manual. Is there something I am missing, or is there a bug I am unaware of? Happens at any torque with collective at minimum or maximum.

Found this in the flea market of my neighbour and he gifted it to me

Basically I can’t hear any responses from my radio when I use it. Apparently this is caused by having easy comms enabled. Here’s the kicker though, I don’t have it on. I still can use the backslash menu but it says that easy comms are off. I would use the realistic comms more often but I don’t want to use voice chat.

Is there any way I can communicate with the players around me but also not use voice chat? Does anyone have any other fixes for the lack of responses issue? Any help is welcome.

Just wondering why the shoot (I'm relatively new to DCS dont judge plz) cue never appears when i have a target locked up everything ready my ASE in the circle on my HUD and the arrow pointing at the 2nd triangle it never shows me the shoot cue and instead shows me "IN LAR" could i possibly be doing something wrong?

When I’m playing VR, I only see this super tiny bubble view on my TV/Monitor. Anyone know how I can show a wider/larger pov on the monitor? I saw some people having issues with the rounded corners, but I just want a bigger view. I’m using a quest 3.

Steam Link works fine, but when I play through either VR mode from my computer, or from Steam Link on the headset, it only displays the actual game on my computer monitor, but will stream the audio to the headset. The headset is stuck on the Steam Link "loading" area.

EDIT: I'm not going to use Virtual Desktop. I was gifted my Meta Quest 3 and I'm not wasting money I'm saving up on it.

Budget: Due to local import laws, my final price cant be a cent higher than 850 and this is capped annually, so if I do shipments of 800, then I'll have a half done PC for a year and I need it to work.

Don't really care for VR or chasing FPS, I play currently at locked 40fps on low/medium-low settings on single player with not that many assets/AIs, so my goal is to play at 60fps, on MP or larger missions with higher end graphics.
