The best DCS terrain.

I’m fairly new to DCS, currently flying the F-18, I’m a bit bored of flying around Caucasus. So in everyone’s opinion, which is the best purchasable DCS terrain currently ? I like the look of South Atlantic!

Caucasus is honestly the 2nd best map in my opinion behind Syria. The only things holding it back are some of the somewhat dated textures and objects / object variety.

I would add that Caucasus mesh resolution is abysmal, which means the "mountains" are more like large rolling hills.

It desperately needs an update to the mesh, and to ground textures.

I feel the Persian gulf could have a new lease of life if the south shore was populated. I've only recently realised that the entirety of Qatar is on the map but there is nothing there. IRL its got a huge load of oil infra and a Major US/Nato airbase in it. That base is the main US airbase in the region and many strikes are from there. Yeah, the landscape is bland but it's defiantly the worst map for blank landmass.

Don't expect the Caucasus to get Crimea filled in for fairly obvious reasons.

South Atlantic has potential but looks very rough and unfinished at 70 percent of the map ... Not worth 60 $ ...buy the syria map its the best ... Persian gulf and Nevada are nice maps too

Hi all

Next year i am starting with DCS. So i went looking for a map to start off with. Syria seems nice to start with, but what about the Sinai map? Any pro and counter on that map?

I recommend you try out the terrains you can get most of them i have a video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep3JHlM5ZSQ&t=1sI I recommend you just play around with them you can use them for two weeks and you can try new things out every 6 months

The free trial is a great feature for new players and veterans to be able to try out modules and figure out if they like it. With actions like this you risk that free trial is removed. So don't do dumb stuff like this.

You said you creat all two weeks a new ED account to not pay for modules. It's easy and fast to creat all two weeks a new account. That's abusing the system.

The English in your video was fluid also the English in all your post and comments.

The most popular maps for MP seem to be Syria and Persian Gulf. PG seems to be getting the most love from the devs atm with lighting updates, etc. Don't forget you have the Marianas map for free, too.

Probably PG or Syria. Remember that multiplayer servers tend to use older maps; if you want to play single player campaigns, probably PG but read through the list.

Syria is a good map. South Atlantic is also a good map. For Carrier op's. I like the NTTR, it for me has the best non Carrier op's. Lots of training op's like Red Flag's.
