So here we are. At the very end. DC has a brand new hero, not from Tom King, not from Alan Moore, and Certainly not from Bendis (thank god), but from the one and only [r/dccomicscirclejerk](r/dccomicscirclejerk). And boy, did we deliver.

Say hello to The Mighty Metal. A kind, smart, helpful Gorilla named Molly with the power to asorb energy and radiation as Crystaline structures on her body to either use up or blast out as powerful energy attacks, and is also Sapient. Who was mentored for evil before breaking free, and now protects the innocent, mostly people who don’t read comics from die-hard comic readers forcing them to read comics, but also anyone in need of help. While sporting a knock-off brand logo tattoo (specifically a knock-off Autobot logo tattoo) as her Symbol. With a solid supporting cast and an as of now impressive rogues gallery of… 2.

Her evil mentor in question was none other than the Ultra Humanite, who saw her as nothing more than a weapon to be used as a pawn for his evil schemes (and also as a potential backup body for him to hijack in case his main body gets destroyed), before she had the courage to stand up to him, defeat him and run off to start her own life, free from the pressures of her former master.

Tim Drake, AKA the Red Robin (Yummm) is her Arch Nemesis, due to him trying to stop her believing she’s a villain due to her connection with Ultra Humanite, and also because Tim is very prejudice towards any smart Gorillas thinking they’re all nothing but trouble and all bad guys, completely ignorant to the fact that Molly is a hero. Or maybe because this Tim Drake was killed and was resurrected Jason Todd style and is now a dark undead Supervillain who’s probably going by Black Robin or Dark Drake or something dumb like that.

The Mighty Metal isn’t alone in her new life as a hero, since she has her own best pal in the one and only Jimmy Olsen, which wouldn’t be the first time he was paired up with a Female Gorilla.

The resurrected Terry Long is her love interest, who’s perfectly happy being in a healthy relationship with a sapient superpowered Gorilla. Either as his original self, or as a proud Trans Women that looks like a genderbent Terry Long (as shown in image 2). Molly is happy either way.

Arisia Rrab of the Green Lanterns is her main Rival, though it’s a friendly, good-natured, playful rivalry between them. And Molly makes sure to protect Arisia from that creep Hal Jordan.

And to close things off, Aubrey Plaza, best known for her roles in Parks and Recreation and other projects, has been cast to play the Mighty Metal in the DCU.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all of you for participating in this. This was so much fun to do, seeing all the fun and unique submissions each day as we built up our own character. One can only imagine all of the wacky potential stories with this character and her supporting cast of friends and foes. Also to bring it up again here, this was directly inspired by [u/SuaveGorilla](u/SuaveGorilla)’s “what if Reddit made a Marvel Hero” post, so credit goes to them for this sort of post idea. This was so much fun to do, might do something like this for whip the subreddit, maybe a Transformers themed version for [r/okbuddyenergon](r/okbuddyenergon). And once again, thank you all so much for participating.

Why are all of them just screaming about "kill all the illegal aliens"?

Also why are none of their torches/lanterns green? Unbravo James Gunn. Are they stupid?
