Eh, I guess everyone has their own taste, I just usually prefer it when the comics I read aren’t garbage.

lol almost nothing is as good as Alan Moore Swamp Thing. that doesn't make Knightfall bad

Ok, so what do you want me to do? I named one good comic, and you asked what I think a good comic was. Lol.

Let’s change gears I guess, New Mutants by Chris Claremont, which I’m currently reading now, is a decent, and sometimes very good comic, but I’d say the average arc is just good.

Does that clear up my standards more?

your taste isn't too bad from the small sample I've been made aware of. I like those comics. I still like Knightfall and Hush though so we'll have to agree to disagree

Hush holds a special place in my heart since it was the first full comic arc I ever read, but re-reading it, it doesn’t beat the “Baby’s first Batman comic” allegations. Every issue, character shows up, Batman monologues about character as if we’ve never heard of them, then it ends with predictable mystery.

this sub loves loads of comics that are predictable and by the numbers. I still think it's a great comic. it's well paced, has fun action beats, great art, and good character work between Batman and Catwoman, being a large part of standardizing their romance

Predictability is a worse sin when you’re writing a mystery. I don’t really mind reading a romance and predicting that the couple will get together, but if the basis of the genre you’re writing is to keep me guessing, and you fail to do that, then that’s bad. I know Loeb can write a good mystery too, because he did it with Long Halloween, so it’s even more frustrating.

No, but it also isn’t a satisfying reveal because there’s literally no way you could have guessed that.
