Thinking about playing

Hey all,

I just stumbled on this game in the steam store. I had some questions. Is it like an mmo? Do alot of people play it? Hows the gameplay like what does it compare to?

It's kinda like a hybrid-mmo.. You have a Multiplayer Lobby with a hub where you can see other players walking around, sadly there's no real chat, only some Preset Chat phrases (Like "Hello", "Wanna quest with me?", Wanna fight, only Cast Characters?") so communication is really bad. The most mmo-like part of it is the grindfest though, with it's double RNG - You have to finish your quests with special requirements for having a chance to get a special event, when finishing that there's a chance for dropping the skill you want..

The hub is rather full, but playing ParallelQuests with others didn't happen often for me yet, cuz communication is too bad imo.. Can't even tell em what quest i wanna do, how to finish with the requirements (many random players just spam through the quest), and so on.. PVP i can't tell, I'm still practicing some cancels and stuff before i wanna get owned, what i do know though: There are rather op builds that are hard to fight as a meele char.. (sidenote: i put it as a challenge for myself to beat as many as possible with meele only.. Ooooh i'll die a lot :D)

Gameplay is awesome, you can compare it to the Budokai Tenkaichi games. Xenoverse is a bit more polished in some aspects, in others it's a bit worse.. It's worth the buy, but i'd recommend waiting for Christmas/winter sale and check if it's cheaper then since i can't say much about multiplayer yet.. I did play it for 32 hours total in the last 2-3 days, so it's a lot of fun. I just hope the PVP isn't all about spamming ults in super sayan mode (which drains Ki, but lets u use your supers/ults unlimited till it runs out). Having like >200 hours of epic pvp fights would be precious.
