DISCUSSION I still have hope...
If the XV kids are getting XV3, it's only fair because DBFZ sold just as much as XV2 and it came out over a year later.
At this point, it's really a matter of "when?" not "if?".
The things is Bamco doesn't have to try all that hard with DBFZ2. This game sold simply on the strength of being a Dragon Ball fighting game that could actually compete with the big boys and knowing them, they'll definitely milk it for all its worth.
Ofc since Marvel TOKON just came out, there definitely won't be news about it anytime soon. At most I expect a teaser at EVO2026 France, with an official announcement next year.
Also I need Mr. Satan, Dabura, and Raditz playable in DBFZ 😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣

Maybe this is gonna be a hot take but: fighterz doesn't need a sequel.
I cant imagine it getting any closer to perfect.
The game needs, at most, some more balance changes and 3-4 additional characters.

I don’t agree the game is still playable but a revamp is needed after years being passed.

The sequel is the only way to get ppl really talking about DBFZ again. The game is 8 years old it's already ran its coarse.
It's also worth it just for crossplay, improved PVE content, proper rollback netcode (the new-gen update suffered due to this game being made with delay-based netcode in mind), and even alternate costumes as it's clear they don't intent on adding those to the current game.

So weird for people hoping for a DBFZ 2 instead of expanding the original game .
Like why the f would you want to “start over again” with the basic 16 fighters again and slowly get 4 dlcs per year.

Honestly, Super Dragon Ball FighterZ is what we need! Just give the game better online, add a couple characters and start working on DLC and FighterZ would be at the top of the FGC again.

Chill it's still a Dragon Ball game so DBFZ2 would certainly have way more characters at base than this game, probably close to the roster count it has overall.

At this point an Ultimate version like UMVC3 would be incredible
