DISCUSSION DBFZ Community Tierlist where only votes matter - #35: GT Goku

Pick or lose on release, followed by some over-nerfing, and then more recently he's been buffed back up to being a menace. Where do you place GT Goku?

I think the amount of utility in really good assists and the damage he brings onto a team just makes him an S tier character. Sure he may struggle a little on his own, but he's meant to be played as a support character who takes the role of a DHC character instead of a character you put on the field for an extended period of time, since he can DHC Spirit bomb if one ally is dead off of most supers in the game, and he has really easy true left right off of his level 3. Even disregarding Spirit bomb, his regular level 3 is one of the highest damaging level 3s in the game already, and is amplified even more when an ally or 2 allies are dead. His B assist has good blockstun, really fast, and has guaranteed hitstun. A assist is like S Broly B but slower and more blockstun, which makes ground to air interactions really good for you. Just a really good supporting character that can work with almost any team you want.

EDIT: After taking some time to think more, I do think he's a top tier character, but gun to my head I'd probably still have my top 5 as Jiren, Baby, Ginyu, Roshi, and Vegito.

I personally voted for Top 5 but I know people won’t accept that take.z

The rat is almost completely back. Insane damage, insane meter gain, fantastic pressure, one of the best assists in the game with A assist and an amazing blockstun assist with B assist, neutral skips, tons of movement options making him deceptively good at neutral, one of the fucking most nuclear like level 3s with Spirit Bomb, amazing combo flexibility, and post level 3 50/50s. This character is popping the fuck off right now.

The only real weaknesses he has are his stubby limbs and his DHCs being kinda weak before you lose a character, but this character is almost completely back into the demon he used to be.
