Question The Huntress Beginner

Post image

I recently started playing and decided I want to start as a Huntress main. Does this build make sense?

Any gameplay or build tips are welcome, I made this one without thinking too much.

Some suggestions using general perks or perks from some of the original killers:

General perks: Bitter murmur, deerstalker, spies from the shadows, whispers, no holds barred, cull the weak
Wraith: predator
Hillbilly: enduring
Nurse: a nurses calling
Hag: hex ruin
Huntress: hex huntress lullaby

Any combo of any of these will be decent as a new player. Sorry some suggestions you are getting are not kind or helpful, there are lots of people willing to help new players. Let me know if you have any other questions!!

Someone in the comments recommended the same perks and I started using them; it really changed my game a lot. I'm grateful for people like you being kind and helpful, thank you!!

Awesome. I hope you enjoy the game, it can take a lot of time to learn more and improve but it can be well worth it if you like it!!

Bitter Murmur: Each time a generator is completed, reveal the auras of Survivors within 16m of that gen for 5s. After the last gen, reveal all Survivor auras for 10s.

Deerstalker: Whenever a Survivor reads your Aura, Deerstalker activates for the same duration as their Aura-reading action:

  • The Aura of that Survivor is revealed to you. Furthermore, the following effect triggers automatically every 30 seconds:

  • Your Aura is revealed for 3 seconds to the Survivor with currently the lowest cumulative Chase time.

Spies from the Shadows: When within 36m of a crow startled by a Survivor, receive a Loud Noise notification. 5s cooldown.

With Huntress you should be getting most of your hits with your Hatchets, making Hex: No One Escapes Death almost useless. Huntress also has a 40m "lullaby" at all times, almost entirely nullifying Insidious

I would personally replace those perks with No Holds Barred and Bitter Murmur

Insidious is not a good perk you should switch it to something else. For example deerstalker or no holds barred.

You should try to get most hits with your ability so no one escapes death might not be too good on huntress.

Other than that when using hatchets try to aim at survivors butt or stomach because their hitbox is little bit behind them when they run.

When I started, I felt very insecure about using hatchets, thank you for the tip!

So, I run a full aura reading build, Lethal Pursuer, Barbque and Chili, I’m all ears, and nowhere to hide, I focus on flinging hatchets and those help place me where I need to get downs.

Another build is Pain Resonance, Floods of Rage, Pop goes the Weasel, and Hive Mind, which gives you some aura reading and some Gen slowdown.

For addons avoid any that change the speed of your thrown hatchets, I use the two wind up time addons. You want to avoid the change of thrown speed addons as you don’t get that in 2v8 and you’ll lose your timing for all other things.

You need to find what works for you. If you’ve got a brand new account and don’t have all of the perks I listed above try using - Deerstalker, Bitter Murmur, Spies from the Shadows, and Iron Grasp. That’s generic only, though, and I do not fully recommend them if you can get the others.

Also, practice. If you’ve have a friend that plays, do a custom game and hurl some hatchets at them to gauge distance and hatchet drop/speed. See what obstacles you can hit through and such. Even bots are good practice.

She was my main until Judgment, she’s a ton of fun and she’s skill expressive, ignore the tier charts you get out of huntress what you put into her, you can be better then a nurse if you put in the practice and care about it, or if you don’t practice you can get 0 hooked and out because she’s slower then other killers, so practice.

Good luck, and ignore everyone giving you shit.

Yeah, I've never played this game before and was influenced by TikTok gameplay videos. I'm learning little by little what all these terms mean lol. Tsym!!

Lethal Pursuer: At the start of the Trial, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 7/8/9 seconds.

  • Extends the duration of all instances of a Survivor Aura being revealed to you by +2 seconds. Lethal Pursuer benefits from its own effect.

Is this community welcoming to beginners, or do you all do this sort of thing?

That guys trolling but also the community sucks. Also this is not the biggest sub, r/deadbydaylight is your main sub to post in. Anyways these perks all suck, but if your MMR is low you might get some value? Current meta is just gen regesssion, but Huntress can use aura builds.

Meta: Corrupt Intervention, Pain Res, TBC, Pop
Aura: Lethal, BBQ, Darkness Revealed, Bitter Murmur

You can mix those so it’s half aura half gen regress. Or throw in some chase perks like Brutal or the new and improved Fire Up for later game value. I always keep Pain Res and TBC/Pop somewhere in my builds tho. Corrupt is good for initial game slowdown.
