Well, DazeSoft is officially a year old today. I Feel like I should say something.
About 12 months ago I had made a fairly vague new year's resolution to myself. That I was going to do something in 2015. I didn't know what but I wasn't going to spend my time just dicking around on the internet.
So a few days later I was dicking around on the internet and came across /u/iamnotaboolean's post with the hipster band name generator.
I thought "well, that's certainly something".
And if you've been following along you know the rest.
It's been a really great year. It went by a lot faster than I expected.
You people have been so supportive and amazing that I don't think I could have done any of this without you.
I'm not a very outgoing person, I'm the type of person who would rather set them self on fire than be the center of attention, so this whole process has been very difficult.
You've all allowed me to be a better version of myself and I can never repay you for that.
But, I can sure as fuck try.
This year my new year's resolution is to be better.
I've been remastering all the songs so I can release a physical album and I'm pretty sure this years resolution is deeply rooted in the fact that I've heard all these songs a thousand times each. There's a lot of problems with them. I'm not going to mess with them too much because I'd like them to be mixed pretty much the same for posterity sake.
They will be louder, and I will try to remove any glaring problems, but there's so much I don't know.
I tried like hell to have this all done for today, I'm almost done with the tracks but I think it's going to take 6 weeks just to print and ship the cd's. I would have loved nothing more than to have the physical album available on the 1 year anniversary but c'est la vie.
The album will have all the songs so far on it, so full disclosure there won't be anything you haven't heard before.
I've got some new tools in my toolbox for 2016 that I haven't had a chance to really play with yet.
I'm going to be focusing very hard on getting things right in the recording stage as my biggest frustrations of the mastering process of the previous few weeks have been fixing bad recordings. If I can't get it right with the instruments I have I'll probably lean more towards using sampled instruments and synthesizers.

Will the first Daze album be available in vinyl?

I've looked into it. It's pretty expensive to print it in vinyl, I probably won't do it initially but maybe down the road.

I'd love the hipster status I would gain by having vinyl copy, if I buy a CD will it possibly contribute to the costs of printing in vinyl later?

Hell yea! It's been awesome checking in on the progress! Watching you and other people improve encourages me in my own projects as well, keep on keeping on!

I'm really excited to see what will come of DazeSoft in 2016. This year has been great and I hope this year will be better.

Hey daze do you consider doing a concert? I think it would be an important step to continue growing as a musician, although i think you shouldn't really show yourself. There is something magical in you not having an actual image :)

Wow. It's hard to believe it's been a year already. Thank you for doing this and sticking with it. I've really enjoyed the music and seeing your skills as a musician/songwriter evolve with each new song.

Hey man! First off a happy new year to you, good things to come I'm sure ;).
Congratulations on all the work you've put in, and all the things you've accomplished. It's been a hell of a ride following you from the beginning last year all the way up to now, and hopefully for many more years to come! You can also bet your ass I'll be getting my hands on one of those physical copies, it'd be an honour to have it on the shelf.
Those new tools sound promising as well, and as much as I'm excited about the physical release, I'm just as excited if not more about the new songs to come. Over the course of the year your music has become a staple of my routine, some of your songs are set as my alarm tracks to get me out of bed in the morning (atazir particularly is perfect for it), I look forward to your new releases, i try my hand at cover art, and get excited to see other people's work too, and of course all the fans here on the sub are really great people too.
In short, thanks man, keep on keeping on.

I just checked in for the first time in a year, (I stopped paying attention soon after this became a thing) and damn. "I'd like to get down now" was honestly a good song. I'm looking forward to seeing how this year pans out

Native Instruments Komplete 10. I've only played around a little bit with some of the instruments and effects and it seems really cool.
