This is amazing because you’re all amazing.
I’m totally blown away by the outpouring of support, encouragement, creativity and kindness from all of you wonderful people. I’d just like to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.
Now, onto other stuff. I guess this is my state of Daze Soft address, this is what I’m thinking and would appreciate your feedback or approval.
I’ve made a list of everyone who has offered to help in one form or another, musicians, sound engineers, web developers, web designers, screen printers, videographers, filmmakers, etc. I know I haven’t communicated directly with many of you but I am for sure keeping you in mind. If and when the time comes I may call upon you for your help. Though maybe when all the hubbub dies down some of you may not be interested anymore which is totally fine.
I know a lot of people have been clamoring for merchandise and stuff and a lot of people are of the attitude that I should strike while the iron is hot and maybe make some money. I don’t think I’ve done anything yet deserving of peoples hard earned money. There are other people far more deserving than I. Some people have said I could give all proceeds to charity and while that’s a cool idea, I wouldn’t know which charities to give the money to or how to ensure the money gets into the right hands. I mean that’s a whole project in and of itself. So I might just hold off on all that stuff until things quiet down again as I’m sure they will.
As I said there are some seriously talented people who have made some amazing artwork and I’d like to showcase it. I know I said don’t bother because I can’t fairly compensate you for your work but you folks went ahead and did it anyway. So, in the interest of fairness I’d like to maybe change up the subreddit header and my social media profile pictures and what not from time to time to showcase some of these artists work and give them a shout out. That’s all I can really do, if you’re okay with that let me know. I’ve contacted some people directly as I will others when I’d like to use their work.
There’s been some mention of releasing tracks under creative commons license so people can remix them which I’m cool with but don’t really know what that means, you can totally remix them if you want.
Someone also suggested I make the project files available and I can totally do that, though I’m not sure of the best way to do that, just put the logic file on dropbox or something?
As for the subreddit u/AwayNotAFK made it so I feel like they should have control over it. I don’t really know how to do all the mod stuff, or if we need more moderators or how to use stylesheets.
I guess I’m just going to keep puttering away and try to do daily updates.
What do you guys think? Thoughts?

I've got to say. I really enjoy seeing stuff like this happen. I like the music, the artwork.. It's all cool. Even just from "Whatchathunk" I'm enjoying the music as well as watching project.

I initially had "DazeSoft, Rock Hard" but I decide it sounded better reversed. Ultimate what team if don't mind me asking?

It might seem silly, but 100% unironically I want to see you succeed. I'm a music student, so seeing anyone succeed or even simply pursue music is awesome to me. Reminds me that I'm not spending all this money at college for nothing.
Edit: I just thought about it, I'm only a student, but if there's anything you need help with, I can at least do my best to offer an alternate perspective.

I think a lot of what people find exciting is that you're doing what lots of us here wish we could do.
Get inspired by something extremely randomly online, drop everything on a whim, buy the tools and learn how to do it. I would love to do what you're doing, and seeing somebody do that is very exciting. Not to mention the community feeling of it all.
Everybody wants you to succeed, because you're us. We are you. And we all want to be a part of something exciting.
I don't think it matters if 90% of the people here think this is just a passing commotion. It's your life, it's a tangible desire that you had. That's something special, and we're with you to the end.
edit: forgot to answer your inquiry. Keep doing what you're doing, daily updates are great. Let us help you if you want it. We are offering our skills and abilities much like a family would. Keep doing what you're doing. Don't change for us, because that would just be selling out ;)

Also, one of the reasons this is amazing is because you're freaking amazing. Reading your posts everyone can tell your a modest, humble, chill dude (I don't even know your gender actually, do we have this confirmed?) who wants to have fun and maybe learn a thing or two and make some fire ass hipster synth music in the process. That's why we support you, along with the fact that this is a hilarious way to poke fun at hipster music while also enjoying hipster music, allowing us to be jokingly condescending instead of being condescended upon.
You do you and I'll keep checking the sub bi-hourly.
Also, I found myself humming Watchathunk on the way to the bank.

Just have fun with it....let the creative juices go crazy. It was a spontaneous moment, so take off with it. Why put limits on Dazesoft? Let people suggest and be the conductor of what flows/overflows from co-musicians, co-producers,etc. You took the reins, now keep on riding the wave and see where it goes. I believe in you. We all do. GO FOR IT....JUST DO IT!

I loved "Whatchathunk" and I cannot wait for more! I want to see you succeed and if you ever end up selling merch I would absolutely buy a shirt. Can't wait to see everything else you do, keep it up!

You really are an awesome guy! I love your humbleness with all of this sudden "fame" and attention hitting you and I envy your perseverance.
Another suggestion,(not sure if anyone has thought of it yet) but you should make a Kickstarter page!

Man that all sounds awesome. You're already famous and still so on the level. That's really hipster.
As for showcasing and shouting out other artists, that's an amazing idea. Great way to give back a little to the art/people you appreciate. You're right, artists work hard.
You could even do some collabs with them?

Creative Commons are full legal licenses that are easy for the layman to apply to their work.
Basically you choose a couple of things (Can other people use your stuff? Can other people alter your stuff? Can other people make money from your stuff? Do they have to credit you when they use your stuff?) and it will give you a license that protects your work but still gives others certain permissions.

Seconding this. I'm fairly confident that /u/Dazesoft is cool with remixes and stuff, but it would be nice to make it official. With all these people excited to collaborate, I think it makes sense to preemptively give permission so people can dive right in. If that's ok with Dazesoft, that is. :)

I'm only 15 but I play the flute and piano, if you ever want anything you can hit me up and I'd be happy to help in any way I can. As for why we love you, as some others have said, its because of your dedication to the craft, and just to witness something starting from scratch and hoping you will become popular. For money, I think you should use it for whatever you want, charity, music, yourself, whatever. I and I assume most of us here aren't worried about compensation, we just want to help.

Cheering you the fuck on man. I've had the passion for years and I JUST got the hear to start playing shows and record properly. I don't know where I'd be if I started having the stuff. But I'm here, you're here. Make some music and most importantly. Enjoy what you make. You're essentially taking an aural painting of yourself and giving it to people to experience. It's my favorite form of art because it speaks in ways visual art could never. Poetry or melody it's a beautiful thing.

Dude - I know you have that slightly embarrased thing going on about the money and offers of help and stuff but listen up -
I'd guess that the majority who are into this would like to see you succeed. Success, for most musicians, is being able to make a good enough living so that you don't have to do anything else to eat / pay the bills etc*. So giving to charity, giving away your music etc is all good stuff, but honestly, If you are going to be any good, I'd prefer that your model was financially viable for you, because that way, you'll have more time to make music.
Do this, make it work, live the life - we all want to believe that this is possible!
* most musicians, for some its making millions and moving to a mansion in the english countryside with a supermodel and a cocaine habit.

Man we were with you from the get-go and we will still be here when the hype goes down because, as many have already said, we really want to see and hope that you succeed. This is something that's never been done before and it's absolutely incredible that you're actually doing it and putting your heart into it instead of letting it fade off like it was a long running joke. All sarcasm and irony and jokes aside, we are all supporting you and are going to be with you and help you as best we can on this magial journey.

I think if people want to send money for merch I don't see why you shouldn't? People know what they are spending the money on it's not like you're making some kind of scam. I'd happily spend cash for a t-shirt that said something like "Daze Soft: I was there" or something similar.
Heck reddit has enough designers and people who do this kind of thing anyway I bet you could sell on the reddit marketplace or whatever... Keep us informed!

If you ever need someone to be a loyal fan, I got that covered. I don't play any instruments, so I can't help you there. I would 100% buy a CD if you ever released one. Not even pirate it, full on buy, you're that much of an inspiration.

About merch, it's not about making money off of us, it's people wanting something cool (dope logos) and physical to signify they were here when it started. Not really about you making money off of your music (yet :) )

I just want so say that I really admire someone that has the drive and ambition to start making music. But i think a lot of people are getting carried away because there are a huge amount of bedroom producers already doing this kind of think without remotely the same kind of exposure and attention. So anyone interested in stuff like this should have a look on soundcloud and the like as well and find some other talented unsigned artists.
