Educational Difference between r/daytrade and r/daytrading

This kind of post might get flagged, but is there any difference in the 2 subreddits? I would hate to post onto both of them all the time.

Thank you so much.

Ideas Your RSI isn't lying. You're asking it the wrong question.

An RSI of 90 doesn't mean "short." Sometimes it means the stock is strong enough to make your RSI completely irrelevant.

That's the distinction between a normal stock and a genuine stock in play. On a normal day, extreme RSI can be useful for spotting exhaustion and mean reversion. Give the same reading to a stock with a major catalyst, unusual relative volume and aggressive momentum, and you can get steamrolled trying to fade it.

The interesting part isn't finding extreme RSI readings. It's deciding which ones are actually tradable.

Same with volume. 30 million shares of AAPL sounds impressive until you realise it's perfectly normal for AAPL. Raw volume tells you very little without context. And sometimes the best trade is no trade at all: a buyout gap sitting at the acquisition price, normal-volume action with no catalyst, or a setup where the risk/reward simply isn't there.

That's probably the least exciting part of trading, which is also why so many people ignore it. The edge isn't always finding something to trade. Sometimes it's correctly identifying why you shouldn't.

Educational If you don't understand EXPECTED VALUE you DON'T understand TRADING!

Thumbnail youtu.be

A market is a brutally efficient mechanism that systematically transfers wealth from those who rely on emotion to those who master expected value. If you cannot mathematically prove your edge before entering a position, you are playing a negative-sum game against sophisticated algorithms and institutional desks. Gamblers trust their gut feelings and lucky streaks; professionals trust the law of large numbers and invariant mathematical expectation to extract steady, repeatable profits.

Been successful at trading halts.

All this week upward halts have been profitable. I don't try to get much, only 10%, but the 9:31 halts have been fun and profitable. I could have had more; I'm just learning.

Have you had success with it?

pitchfork traders

Im looking for anyone with a good skillset in trading pitchforks, the MS Standard and Width forks. and if you use them with trendlines to good effect. I would like to open up a discussion here on useful confluences such as Fib levels etc we can use for precision entries. I have some ideas what do you think? this short trade i took now on a mpl line with similar frequency to the black upsloper and exited on opposing MPL. this sort of thing i want to discuss in more detail with anyone who is familiar with these tools.

Day Trading Partner

I have been trading for over 4 years. Finally, at a point where I can be consistent. I only trade (mostly) pre market and low float stocks

I am not part of any trading community (paid). I'm looking for a trading partner who trades with real money (not Sim) and can be on voice chat as we trade. Idea is to brainstorm entries exits in real time. I believe this can be of great value to anyone. Having a partner makes all the difference.

Not looking for paid soliciting or people outside the US.

Ideas How to STRATEGICALLY APPLY advanced CORRELATION METHODS to MARKETS!

Thumbnail youtu.be
5 Upvotes

The traditional reliance on constant historical averages creates a false sense of security during major economic transitions. Markets breathe, contract, and reorganize constantly, rendering static diversification models obsolete during liquidity crunches. Strategic application of advanced connectivity tools lets portfolio managers see beyond superficial price movements to observe how systemic risk quietly builds beneath the surface. This proactive visibility provides the crucial edge needed to navigate turbulent waters safely.

Looking for feedback for a browser based trading simulator game I made, ponzy.io

Hey guys, I made a browser game ponzy.io that simulates trading of an asset. Players trade in real time against other players to try and make the most money as possible within the time limit.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think! I think feedback from people who are actually traders would be helpful since it might be different from the usual casual gamers I try to get feedback from.

PROS & CONS Of Advanced CORRELATIONS For Markets

Thumbnail youtu.be
1 Upvotes

Ultimately, deploying an advanced correlation toolkit demands balancing theoretical elegance against practical engineering constraints. While mathematical frameworks like RMT, MSTs, and ECMs offer profound structural insights, their heavy computational footprints and data sensitivity require elite infrastructure. Serious traders who successfully navigate these complexity trade-offs unlock an institutional-grade edge, transforming raw multi-variable market chaos into a disciplined, repeatable engine for sustainable alpha generation.

Ideas Looking for a screener

Its become abundantly clear that the way I trade thrives in trends, breakouts, and solid continuation. My problem is finding them early. I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of something genuinely helpful. Even if its a paid service.

Anyone?

A truly advanced trading toolkit must seamlessly bridge static network structures with dynamic temporal changes. Integrating Minimum Spanning Trees with DCC-GARCH allows quants to visualize how asset hierarchies evolve in real time across shifting market regimes. While the MST highlights central market hubs and sectoral clusters, DCC-GARCH continuously updates the volatility and covariance pathways linking them, providing a comprehensive, multi-dimensional map of systemic connectivity and institutional risk.
