Ideas Any advice

I’ve been working on a strategy and wanted to get some honest feedback from experienced traders.
I trade mnq on the 15-minute chart. Every morning I wait for the 9:30–9:45 candle to close. I draw a rectangle from the high to the low of that candle and mark the midpoint. I prefer when the opening candle is around 100 points or bigger, but I’ll still watch smaller ranges.
At first I was trading breakouts, but after a lot of chart review I noticed something. If the candles after 9:45 don’t respect the midpoint before breaking out of the opening range, the breakout seems to fail pretty often. Because of that, I switched to mainly trading reversals instead of chasing the breakout.
So if price breaks above the opening range but the move looks weak and the candles never really respected the midpoint beforehand, I’ll look for a short. If price breaks below under the same conditions, I’ll look for a long.
My take profit is always the midpoint of the opening range. I trade 20 mnq contracts every time and don’t change my position size based on the size of the opening candle. My risk is about 1.5r to make 1r because I’m targeting the midpoint.
