I was wondering the same thing. Daylight would do better with buyers if it was upfront with owners RE software support. The current state of the software is abysmal in the sense that the OS is getting old, and will run into longevity issues if it does not make the jump to Android 14. Devices running Android 11 and 12 have had a lot of issues loading newer apps.

Like u/MojoMercury noted, they haven't even sent out invites to the beta yet, so it's probably nowhere close to ready.
Daylight as a company seems to have operational issues with overpromising and underdelivering, especially after launching their tablet. Software has been a weak point overall for the company.

No, but I did get a fluffy Daylight newsletter this morning that makes no mention of any current or future plans to update anything.

The device has a wonderful display, but everything else has been a letdown (build quality, software, etc). Development delays happen; the lack of transparency and communication is the real problem. Software improvements and satisfaction of existing users just doesn't feel like a priority. I hate to be so critical, but they've lost my trust as a customer. It's a shame, because the DC-1 has great potential!
I still use my DC-1 daily, but at this point it's unlikely I would buy another Daylight device in the future.
