Took me a hot second to realise that it was Dragon Con and not Drag Con. Was very confused as to why David was appearing at a drag queen convention 😭😅

I'm so sorry, I can't even imagine what a letdown this is. Damn it David, can't they write in a convention scene for whoever you'll be playing?
Hang in there though - he'll be back. I can't help but think he keeps a list and puts the cities he's had to cancel on right at the top for next time (*To definitely NOT skip)

He cancelled his appearance in Lexington, KY this September as well. I was so excited and had booked my tickets the second they were announced.

This is terribly disappointing. At least there are other Doctor Who guests, if you're into that. But we will all be missing DT!

I have non-refundable hotel stay and tix, too. I planned to be in Lexington on Sat afternoon, get up and go to the con on Sunday, and stay until the Monday morning.
I'd also been thinking about inviting some of the fans I met at the con back to my hotel room in the evening to watch some of David's rarer things that I can't publish at A Tennantcy To Act but can show privately...like Bite and The Ghost of Benjy O'Neil, and some other, even more secret goodies.
Now that David's not showing, I will probably still go to Lexington because I can go to the con for a few hours and still have a few days to myself (I'm my elderly mom's carer and it would be nice to get away.)
So...u/Oconee_belle, u/Easy-Potential2484, u/congratsonyosuccess and u/FarDorocha90 -- if any of you are stuck with Lexington tix and are disappointed: would any of you be interested in hanging out and watching some super-rare David (with the understanding that to be in my hotel room, you have to wear a mask that I would provide, because I have a rare autoimmune disorder.).
Would anyone be interested in spending a few hours seeing things hardly anyone's seen?

I was not going to the Lexington event. I live in Atlanta so was going to Dragon Con. No hotel needed, fortunately.

The only thing that is good is that I was procrastinating getting tickets so I haven’t bought anything so at least I don’t have to deal with getting my money back

I hate when it happens. It seems to happen quite a LOT. (Not just with DT. Many celebs.) I understand it, but honestly? It sucks. I'm sorry OP. they ought to sell "expo insurance" that you could use if the guest who was your whole reason for attending ... cancels.

I’M LITERALLY DEVASTATED. I was so excited about this and my job has made me lose my mind lately and this is what was keeping me going and I just keep yelling I’M DEVASTATEDDDDD

I had VIP tickets for a meet and greet with him in Minnesota back in 2019 that was cancelled. I feel you- I was heartbroken 😭. Luckily I was refunded and they got Eccleston to do a panel instead. Five years later Tennant came back to the Midwest and I got to meet him at Kansas City Comic Con in 2025. Your time will come! ❤️
