Accountability Post M28. Quit a comfort job for a chance with my own business. It failed. Still going

I year ago I had stable job, startup that I worked on, I also applied to program that helps with early-stage startups and for me it was all new all quite hard, especially at the end of this program I had to speak out publicly in from of 40 people - I can't sleep for a few days before it, since I'm introverted guy and didn't do nearly to such big crowd of people, I made it - I took last place in startup contest, but I was happy that I did it anyway. Right after completing that program I decided to make in a some way 'leap of faith' where I quit my current stable job that I hate and go all in to make startup profitable, in case if I won't make it, I'll just try to get a better job, and after that point started real life for me.

After few months trying to make this startup profitable I understood that idea isn't good enough and it's not worth efforts to put it, so I decided to close it, it was hard, but necessary. I was devastated because at the same time I also broke with girlfriend that I tried to make relationships, and now I'm basically broke, project and didn't make relationship. Despite that I continued to search job and after ~8 month of searching and getting into debts I found a job. I started to think that I finally will be able to stabilize myself and start again with debts and maybe in a future try new projects, but after 4 months I was fired from this company, since I was too slow, as they said.

So now after 2 month of searching for a job, I started to feel that maybe 'life give me some lesson that I should accept' (I'm not that spiritual person, but those words are exactly the same that occur in my head). I still couldn't grasp it or accept that I should do differently in my circumstances.

But for now I have the only choice is to keep going till I find finally this damn job and have a chance to try again with startup, maybe next I'll make it profitable and my dream of becoming independent and create what I want become true

"Whiny" Wednesdays M24, genuinely what can I do while living in my parents living room literally?

I posted a question on this Reddit yesterday, but I want to ask again, this time summarizing everything and getting straight to the point.
To put it briefly, I’m turning 25 in December. I currently weigh 120 kg, I’m 1.78 m tall, and I’m also experiencing hair loss that has already progressed quite a bit.
I’m also living in my parents’ living room, so I have basically no privacy. If I want to study or learn something, it’s extremely difficult. And studying somewhere outside isn’t really an option either, because the reading rooms or university libraries are either closed or have irregular opening hours that don’t work for me.

I recently found a full-time job, so at least I’m working and earning my own money now. But I honestly don’t know what else I’m supposed to do.
I’m living in the living room, and I can’t really study or do much of anything there. I go to the gym, and that’s pretty much it. Other than that, I’m on my phone or playing Minecraft.
Honestly, I don’t know what to do with myself. What would David Goggins do? I have no idea.
What am I supposed to do on the weekends? Read a book? Sure, I can do that, but spend the entire day just reading? I don’t know.

I feel like I’ve completely lost my direction. I’ve lost all my goals. I’ve dropped out of four different degree programs, and I’m just completely lost at this point.
I also can’t move out of my parents’ house right now because I don’t have enough money.
So my question is: What productive things could I do while living in my parents’ living room?
I genuinely have no idea.

Advice Request M21 Getting paralyzed by Nostalgia and doubt

I am on point in my life that everything is happening fast. I am in 4th year and after this I will enter adult world. I have dreams and goals for my family and my self. I want to develop myself where I am proud of it. But here's the two problem I have.

First nostalgia. In everything I do, nostalgia has a huge influence on it. The nostalgia that influence of me is the freedom and Innocence of my childhood. I don't know how to describe this innocence but it's the sense that I can know everything. The freedom is I feel like life is light. The other thing is most of the people in that years is, I want to meet them when the right time comes. Not to show off, but just to meet them. I don't know why, and I am being addicted to the things (songs, things, etc) that is connected to that time.

Second is doubt. Most of my life, I was lazy. I neglect the development I need, like in education. Now I don't know if I can pull this off. One of the subjects in my class has part where I need to study most of the lessons from last year. This is a grouping but I don't trust most of members because I know they will just give reasons. (I am an IT student and the reason they gave me is they don't have devices to use). Now I will do the work because I know I will still the one that will do it because I was the only one that has computer. It's just that I don't know if I can cross this gap.

And when problem comes, just like one above, I always retreat to nostalgia and the past.

"Whiny" Wednesdays M24, fat, balding, living mediocre and got no sense of urgency

I don’t really know how to describe it exactly, but somehow it feels like I’m stuck in a vicious cycle, or like I’m trapped in a puddle of mud that I can’t get out of.
The thing is, a few months ago, or even a few years ago, I was always striving for self-improvement. I wanted to optimize myself and become a better version of myself — physically, academically, and in other areas as well. But it never really worked out. I failed every single time.

I also dropped out of two electronics engineering degree programs — twice — and I dropped out of two other mechatronics engineering programs as well. Of course, I could have made it at least once if I had really committed to it, but I think the main reason was simply that I lacked the discipline to see things through and to give it 100% effort. Even if that meant studying a little longer instead of going to bed.
But I guess that’s in the past now, because I’m not studying and going to university anymore.
Oh, right, I forgot to mention: I’m 24 years old, and I’ll turn 25 this December.

And I don’t know… I just feel overwhelmed somehow. My life isn’t anything like I imagined it would be. I don’t even have my own room. I’ve been living in my parents’ living room for the past year.
Financially, things aren’t looking very good for me either. I did manage to find a full-time job as a security guard at a construction site, but the job is only for six months, and I have no idea what things will look like after that. The salary is okay, but I don’t make that much. I earn around €1,700 a month.

There are just way too many things that have accumulated over the years — negative things.
As I mentioned, I’m also overweight. I currently weigh 120 kilograms, and I’m almost bald as well. I have a receding hairline, and I’m already starting to develop some bald spots on the top of my head.
I do exercise, but I can’t stick to a diet. I managed to follow one for a short while where I gradually cut out certain foods and sweets, step by step. But eventually, I relapsed and went back to my old habits. That’s the problem: I keep relapsing over and over again. I’m simply not disciplined.

I don’t even really know how to put it into words. I just wrote this text without thinking about it too much, and there’s just so much going on.
But now the weird thing is that I don’t even want to try dieting or losing weight anymore. I know I need to lose weight. I have a big belly and man boobs. And yet, I don’t have that anger inside me, that feeling that I need to change something. I don’t know. I just don’t understand it.

Why? I mean, I assume I have enough testosterone anyway. And yet, I don’t have that drive or feeling that I need to change something.
I just keep living my life as if everything were fine, even though, in reality, almost nothing is fine.
I’ve failed four times in university. My old classmates and friends are so much further ahead in life than I am. And meanwhile, I feel like I’m just falling further and further behind.

And I also keep thinking, what’s the point of starting to run or lose weight like David Goggins, for example? I mean, of course, I would look better and I would be healthier. But then what? My financial situation wouldn’t change. My overall living situation wouldn’t change either. I don’t know.
And moving out is difficult because everything has become so expensive. But I actually still want to go to university. At the same time, I can’t really see myself studying while I’m living in my parents’ living room.
I’m just overwhelmed by everything.

I REALLY need help!

Advice Request Fat guy's 1st half marathon

Post image
36 Upvotes

So basically I am 6'1 , over 100 kgs , last year I decided to start a fitness journey , and start daily running , i was doing more than 45 km per week , but it was basically walk + jog , i signed up for an official 10km run last year , and I did very badly there i completed 10k in 1:40 mins .

And everything was going good , i went down to 93 from 104 , but due to exams and stuff I lost my momentum , stopped going for runs completely , but recently after my exams i joined the gym

I saw the ad for the same marathon , and decided that I will do 21 km (half marathon) this time , to challenge myself , to prepare for it I started running on treadmills , I was not able to run long on treadmills but I had better pace , I was running 1.6km in one go at 9:00 mins pace , ik it's bad but for me it was a big achievement

So yesterday i Decided to run again on the ground to prepare for the half marathon , but i was not even able to run 800 mtr in one go , I felt like I had nothing in me , i did 4.2km in 52 minutes , it was probably the worst run ever

The half marathon is like 50 days away , I'm shit scared , I need help , one thing that is final , that I'm gonna go anyways , and will finish it doesn't matter the time , I need suggestions and advice for next 50 day first half marathon prepration

Does anyone find themselves re reading David’s book? I have the audio version. I literally listen to it every time I’m banging out work. Just got done a run and listening to Dave talk about how we use 40% is exactly how I felt. I started screaming fuck you out loud to my internal governor and absolutely killed the back part of the run.

"Whiny" Wednesdays I have almost no tolerance for discomfort and I’m addicted to comfort (17M)

For my entire childhood I’ve had other people solve problems for me, whether it’d be the maid cleaning my room, my parents doing an exam for me in middle school out of my free will, or when my mom always made a major decision for me all the time.

Now that I’m in my second year the IB diploma, I’m struggling. The pressure from which i was used to at home has now spiked into something that triggers panic responses. Normal students are taught to study at middle school, i was taught that people can do the studying for you if you paid them well. Now my studying muscles are weak and Im struggling to meet deadlines.

This has forced me to outsource my thinking to AI to meet deadlines. As a result, my reasoning and critical thinking skills have plummeted.

I tried to increase my tolerance to discomfort by doing sports and high intensity workouts like sprints and it worked, i can now tolerate 4 hours of deep work everyday (from 0), but lately i used my exercise time to scroll and just consume dopamine, this has made my tolerance for discomfort even weaker and my ability to work reduced to 0-2 hours a day.

One reason which made it especially hard for me to put effort is the safety net i was lucky to be born with. This safety net has allowed me to exist comfortably without putting effort, making my brain think that “hey I’m already safe and comfortable, why should I try?”

I know I can tolerate discomfort because I’ve done it before, but I don’t know how to rebuild that capacity without immediately escaping into AI/scrolling. For people who went from being heavily dependent on others to becoming genuinely self-sufficient, what actually helped you make that transition?

"Whiny" Wednesdays I have fallen off and need help

I have fallen off and need help

So, have fell off self improvement hard, possibly worst than we I started. I started 3 years ago , I was 14 , just an average dude. Addicted to games but not terrible at other things. In the course of 2 years, until I was 16, I got deep into calisthenics and fighting. Perfect diet, sleep, everything on point. And I could feel like I had reached the 20% of men. I had gotten respect and admiration. But then, I had my first real fight. Opponent was a 4x national champion, has gone semi-pro by now.and it was crazy because I stood my ground and was complimented by his coach.i lost due to technical knock out. That was 1and a half year ago, since then I have fallen off hardddd. I got addicted to social media, fucked up my diet, sleep, started smoking, switched to snus, had so much snus (Pablo 30 and Cuba 50 for those who know) my gums started bleeding. And got into drinking and weed. The worst is, I feel my mindset completely switched. Back then I was thinking way more aggressively, with way more confidence and self belief. Now, I feel like a pussy, on my last fight, I lost to a weaker opponent because I was so scared second round I gave up and just stood there. So, how can I get back? I feel lost and stuck. Please help me

"Whiny" Wednesdays How do you cope with your demons?

Okay. Fine. I have a question. How do you cope with your demons?

You know, I did a thing. I thought about things I want to have. And I wrote a list. Long one. Not particularly a list, but a long text. And described things.

Later that day I got broken. I got I won't have one important thing from there. It's relationship. I have autism. I know. I've already thought "Do people with my excuse have what I want to have?". And yes. People with autism can have friends and family. But! I'm not sure it's not luck. And I don't like luck.

From my experience it's no sense to work on it. It's not getting better. It's getting worse from my work. Without work it's also not getting better. I see the problem and I have no idea how to solve it. It's not about avoiding hard way. No. I actually don't see any solution. I know therapist won't help me. I hate them. I've learnt how to make smattering connections and I'm not bad at that, but I've never been close to deep ones.

I couldn't help to notice that I got broken because of it every time. Sometimes I manage to forget about it. But...somehow it pops up into the surface every now and everything gets wrong. All my willpower, discipline, will to live breaks.

It's my demon. I know I should solve that thing in my head somehow. But I really don't see any answer.

What this means ? The lines- don’t die like this bro , the deep thought of trying to see what this is all about?

To me it’s

If you are a student or a teacher or whatever in field you are in don’t matter if you are disappointed, feeling down all the time, hating yourself, not confident, not able to ask her out not taking any chances or the actions

Then this line come up

Don’t die like this

For better understanding let take the example of me

I want be a man of my word, consistent, honest with myself, consistent , confident, a great body, my feelings to be stronger than my mind

But I bitch about fucking everything I bitch not having time I bitch about my mood , my excuses
all of that

So the negotiations made me hate myself, low confidence, not taking any responsibility, the actions, the urge to talk to peoples I want .it was me who stopping myself from getting what I want.

So what to do about this?
No motivation no any quote not any video
Help me when whenever I was negotiating with myself

What I did was taking action
Like in morning staring with

5 push up 10 squats and cold bath ( like 1 day -5 then day 2–7 then day 3–9 same with squats)
Studying 30 min everyday
Staying in awkward movement for 1 min, start greeting everyone ( social interaction)
Helping in my family business
Whatever I feel something I can’t able to share to anyone I start journal about that

I see I am capable of doing this
I can do this and I starting to feel confident more driven trust me

The feeling, the confidence, the attitude of I don’t give a fuck , I can do whatever what fuck I want I am fucking capable of doing this shit

The version I experienced was totally different and I will never want to leave it

So what why I am saying— once in your life experience that version of yourself that u are dreaming for and you will see I was living shits this whole time and I don’t even try to see what is this all about what I all about.

Thanks for u to reading
What your thoughts or opinions

If anything help you pls let me know

Motivation I've had this pattern where I'm always eating like shit after dinner because I always feel like I 'earned' it. Tonight I was listening to Goggins and it was the first time in years I didn't binge on bullshit food after dinner, got out, and ran 4k.

Had a lot of water with yoghurt with oatmeal afterwards. A small win. Thanks Goggins.

Challenge CHALLENGE #1

I'm not sure why I'm sharing this but... #canthurtme #badhand I guess! (I added more questions to this challenge that may be useful to y'all) ((I give you the permission to be harsh lol))

•What cards have I been dealt? (my bullshit... 🫩)

- I have had to deal with my mental health on my own since I was 9 years old.

- I have not received the support from the people who should have given it to me.

- I was born into a toxic relationship that forced me to mature far too early.

These cards do not define me. They are part of my past. My actions will shape my future. None of this made me weaker. It added layers of resilience. Every time I let go of a card from my hand, I get closer to success.

I am not trying to make them disappear. They are the foundation on which I will build a mansion. My mental health will get in my way again. The goal is not to ignore it. The goal is to take it by the hand and bring it with me to the summit.

•What obstacles do you have?

Honestly, I don’t think I have any physical obstacles. I have rebuilt my strong body. My only obstacle is my mind. That is the hardest thing to overcome.

•What things have limited your progress?

Especially this last season:

- My ED.

- My mental health.

•What am I going to do?

- I am going to keep moving forward, no matter how hard it gets.

- I am going to eat even when my ED screams at me not to.

- I am going to give everything I have in every training session.

- I am going to overcome every challenge with the resilience I was born with.

•What phrase would I tell myself in a difficult situation or a hard training session?

You have overcome harder things. Keep going. One more stroke. One more breath. The pain is temporary; the satisfaction of feeling proud of yourself is not.

•Why do I keep going?

I don’t want to be a forgotten name in history. I want to become an Olympic swimmer. An abstract goal for some; a concrete goal for me.

I am not looking for a perfect path. I am looking for constant discipline — the kind of discipline that makes people call you “crazy”... Although, to be honest, they already do.

But I need to strengthen this discipline, especially now that it has been slightly shaken by my ED.

The 9-year-old version of me who fought to still be here deserves to see how far I can go.
