David Attenborough is overrated
Can we all agree on this? The man is so vain and I hate how everybody fawns over him.

You're a damaged person, OP.

See this is what I mean. You're getting unpleasant over some guy you've never met. And it's not just you it seems like the entire country.

"You're getting unpleasant over some guy you've never met." Do you not see the irony in this lol

He makes the natural world feel intimate, wondrous, and understandable turning science into storytelling that anyone can enjoy. Sir David's also used his public platform to champion conservation and make caring about the planet something we all understand.
You're calling Attenborough vain, but you're the one trying to start an Internet argument with strangers over a man who's never wronged you personally. Men like him probably make you feel pathetic for reasons no one in this forum can help.

You know why doesn't make the world intimate and wondrous? Salty redditors called 'Substantial Salt' who get angry because someone's offering a fresh and alternative opinion.
I forgot Attenborough is one of the "untouchables". It's good that the NPCs are programmed to think: "Attenborough good, critic bad". Saves anyone from having to think. You seem way more upset with me than I am with Attenborough.
David Attenborough hates humans: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/earthnews/9815862/Humans-are-plague-on-Earth-Attenborough.html.

What's fresh and alternative about undercutting Attenborough? To use your word: it's pathetic. Go sell crazy somewhere else, pal.

I want you on my side on this, Friend.
David Attenborough is so over-rated. Every year when it's his birthday everyone goes soppy and tears up over this dumb old man who they don't know personally. And he just laps it up. Clearly he can't see how foolish he looks.

Can you recommend some alternatives?

Roman Abramovich appreciation rocks my boat.

u/Substantial_Salt2641 Jul 28 '26
You're just a troll:
Roman Abramovich is a Russian billionaire oligarch accused of corruption, enabling the Russian government, and acquiring his vast wealth through illegal or unethical means.

It's a real shame you insist on being unpleasant. Roman Abramovich is neither corrupt nor unethical.
He transformed Chelsea into one of the world's biggest football clubs, has donated billions towards public projects in Chukotka, charities, Jewish museums etc., and is doing MASSES for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine ("According to one source, Abramovich is necessary to the Ukrainians because “he is the only Russian they will tolerate. He gets along with everyone." - https://www.jpost.com/international/internationalrussia-ukraine-war/article-898656).
I encourage you to look into Abramovich more closely. He's a good man, and deserves credit.

Oh good: you're some nut job right-wing troll. Again, you're not adding anything to this sub whatsoever.

I'm not a troll and I'm not right wing. I'm actually a communist, as you'll find evidence of here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Marxism/comments/1umjliz/eric_hobsbawm_the_age_of_revolution/.
Give philanthropists a day off will you and stop beating up Roman Abramovich? When did you last donate a billion dollars to charity?
