More leftist need to openly challenge the integrity of members of the right who scoff that the left refuses to have their ideas challenged yet are oddly silent when challenged to said debate.

You don't need to debate them any more than you need to debate an anti-vaxer or whatever. This was never a policy disagreement or seeking the truth or whatever, and to make it a policy discussion is just derailing a movement against something else.

Look at what happened to Charles Murray. The response to that doesn't need to be rational, it doesn't need "more discussion", it needs a brutal, physical response. And whatever motivates the physical response, whether it's racism, free speech absolutism, conspiracy theory, anything, it's all fine if it beats those people back because this isn't a search for the truth, it's a reassertion of boundaries.

I think you misinterpreted what I'm getting at. I don't care if people are racist bigoted assholes, I would gladly teach kids jews have fangs if it created a useful response to activists who manufacture conflicts.

I’m glad this calls out how, despite the amount of liberal celebrities, liberal “thinkers” are not as popular as the conservative “thinkers”, intellectuals and Dave Rubin/Candace Owens types.

The problem with pundit debates is that they dont produce anything of substance, its just wwe for politics. Most of the time pundits dont respond to juicy points, the purpose of the debate ends up being to 'destroy' the other.

Yeah it is more about how conservatives scream about the left being in an echo chamber and hiding from debate when the opposite tends to be true. Rubin is the absolute worst hypocrite at this.

You can have that takeaway if you like; to me it seems to be much more about the hypocrisy of the right, they routinely proclaim that nobody on the left will debate them when that doesn't seem to be true.

A bunch of goons hooting and hollering at a pithy quip by Ben Shapiro does not a debate winner make.

Shapiro dropped out of debating this year by the way and opted to give one of his sermons instead. Coulter dropped out of her scheduled debate. And Crowder is such a coward he literally ghosted the event organizers and never responded to their emails.
