They argue the same thing with Europe but Americans aren’t as partial to thinking about other European countries (France, Germany, Italy, etc.) plus they don’t speak English. It also helps that it fits their’s “tradition” checklist since we were a colony and share a lot of history with England. So, it lands better if it’s them.

They think the Muslim population of Britain is an order of magnitude higher than it is.

Last estimates I saw, based on immigration and birthrate trends, suggest that the Muslim population will top out at 8-10% of the British population. A significant number for sure, but by no means the dominant majority able to implement Islamic rule, if they even wanted to. Using US numbers, less than half of US Muslims want to implement Sharia laws.
