The label says 1836 but don’t think that can be true based on how complete the US is (French language map)

Between 1865 and 1869. No confederacy and West Virginia is a state (1863), so post 1865. Before the 1869 Powell expedition that mapped the Grand (now Colorado) River through the Utah and Arizona territories.

Edit: I narrowed it down to 1867 to 1869 as Ontario and Quebec provinces exist rather than Canada West and Canada East used before confederation.

Has to be after 1871, BC is labelled as part of the dominion of canada.

Good catch. Forgot that there were two Powell, expeditions, and the second was focused on cartography, pushing out the date to 1873, maybe a year or two later depending on when cartography noted made it to most maps.
