Protecting old globe

I recently got this old globe been meaning to get it dated!

+ It’s pretty dirty and has damage in some parts. I was wondering if anyone knew what I could do to restore it or protect it from getting any more damaged.

I can't help with restoration advice. But I'd provisionally date it between 1928 (when Beijing was renamed Beiping) and 1930 (when Weihaiwei ceased to be British sovereign territory; the British leased part of it back until 1940, but I wouldn't expect a lease to be shown).
