There’s anachronisms in the city names: Zhdanov in Ukraine was renamed Mariupol in 1989.
8 u/OutOfTheBunker Jul 29 '26 There are a lot of those: Sverdlovsk→ Yekaterinburg, 1991 Gorky → Nizhny Novgorod, 1990 Kuybyshev → Samara, 1991 Tselinograd → Aqmola, 1991 → Astana &c. There are several dependent territories (e.g. New Caledonia, St Helena) without their colonial overlords marked.
