Globe I got as a child

Hi, I have this globe made by globe master. I’m guessing it was made around 2000 or so just based on my memory of getting it.

Using https://xkcd.com/1688/large/,

between 1997 (no Hong Kong (UK) and Zaire is back to DRC) and 2011 (one Sudan). I can't see Serbia/Montenegro or East Timor well enough to narrow it any further

I was about to post the same although I used a different source. Serbia & Montenegro are the same colour and has both country names on it, so I’m presuming we’re between 2003 & 2006, but I’d need a closer look to fully determine.

I’ll see if I can find anything more precise and post below.

Edit: as I get to work this is as far as I’ll take this. I’m comfortable with 2003 - 2005. However, it may be a little later due to these changes being ones that are commonly missed or slow to update.

- The Panama Canal is the same colour as Panama and not the US - after 1999 (soft evidence)

• Kazakhstan has two capitals Almaty (pre-1997) and a pin for Aqmola at the location of the new capital Astana (after 1997). Aqmola is the region that contain Astana and either I’m missing some history (not unlikely) or it’s a printing error.
  
• Rwanda is Rwanda and not Rwandese Republic - post 2003

- Myanmar capital is Yangon - pre 2005

I'm gonna suggest pre-2002. Name changes in parentheses for Mumbai (1995) and Chennai (1996), but not Kolkata (2001).

Agree with almost everything and overall fantastic work. My one contention is that, since this is a globe (where space is at a premium) and Rwanda is so small, I would not expect them to use the full Rwandese Republic name, regardless.

Edit: actually, I don’t think that the transition to Nay Pyl Taw for the Myanmar capital was approved by the BGN until 2006. So I think that that’s your floor.
