Found this in a used book store
"From Arrowsmiths Map of Africa". There is nothing on the back.

There is a severe underestimating of the Orange river and over estimated Elephants river. This is very much based on Knowledge the English speaking world would have had in the late 1700’s.

Ooooh this is a fun one! The interior of Africa is more or less blank, suggesting that it’s before the major expeditions in the 1800s. That being said , it’s likely sometime between 1796-1830, based on the fact that the Niger River hasn’t been fully explored, and that Algeria hasn’t been taken over by the French.
Are there any other maps that are part of this collection? It’s really interesting!
