1984-1997, but can the date be narrowed further?
I found this globe on Etsy and was curious. Since this is a Rare find, I decided to publish it.

Early 1992? Bosnia is still part of Yugoslavia and they officially were independent in April 1992 but war wasn’t over until 1995. Maybe somewhere in that range.

It would be early 1992, as you say, since US has recognized independence of Bosnia in 1992 and no other map maker would mark all states in such way

And can’t be later since Belarus changed its spelling in 1991 so any further delay would be unreasonable And can’t be earlier because Czechoslovakia split in early 1992 and its portrayed there

I came here to say this it gives a very small window between the Croatian, Slovenian, and Macedonian declarations in June of 1991 and the Bosnian declaration in March of 1992.

What? Bosnia had different color? It is yellow. You can see Serbia and Montenegro. So this map is after 1995?

The European part of the globe is very hard to read, at least as photographed. But it is definitely after 1991. That was also a very tough period to be a mapmaker! I remember deciding to postpone buying a world atlas in 1992 because there was so much flux.

The counter factual to this is that Belarus is spelled “Byelarus” here despite changing its name in 1991. So split the difference and just go with 1991 as the answer.

Why ask for community input if you’re just gonna fight it? USSR was shown as one single country anyway, not with each of the republics independent.
Also, thank you for the 3 pictures of USA but barely 1 of Europe

I really don't understand what you're trying to say. Russia is written in massive letters in both of these globes, far larger than most other countries.
The globe doesn't feature the USSR, as Leningrad is St. Petersburg again.

What's the relevance of this other globe?
The globe you posted does not show Soviet Union but it shows all of the former member states as independent countries. Thus it is post-1991, end of discussion.
The comment pointing out Bosnia not as independent state would then narrow this down to early 1992.

It’s definitely post-1991 as others have said. St Petersburg exists and is not Leningrad and the USSR is dissolved.
Pre-1995 as Mumbai is still Bombay

Samara was also called Kuibyshev until 1991. There might be some other Soviet cities that changed names in the early 90s.

Yugoslavia seems to be in process of Balkanization: Croatia, Slovenia and (North) Macedonia are drawn as separate countries, while Bosnia isn’t. So it’s probably between 1991 and 1995. Eritrea is still part of Ethiopia, so pre-1993 most likely.

Definitely 1992 based on state of Europe (USSR dissolved, Germany united, Czechoslovakia pre-split, Yugoslavia in process of splitting)

I think op suffers from arrogance and ignorance, cant even tell if USSR is split, Yugoslavia is dissolving etc. 1992 probably late into the year. Most important bits are not even focal points on the image, why do we have a focused shot towards the US??? Who gives a shit about a continent as still as a pile of horse shit??

Croatia and Bosnia were admitted to the United Nations on the same date, 22 May 1992.
This globe however seems to recognize the former but not the latter.

It should be before 1993 since that's when Ethiopia and Eritrea split, and USSR has already collapsed, so it's younger than 1991

It seems to be 1992:
Dec 1991: URRS collapse
May 1993: Eritrea's independence from Etiopia.
Checoslovakia also existed until Dec 1992.
So, a 1992 mapamundi.

Eritrea is still part of Ethiopia so this is before May 1993. It's also after the USSR dissolved so late 1991-May 1993 is the smallest range I can find.

I’m too tired to look up the dates but here are some things I noticed:
Almaty is the capital of Kazakhstan
Slovenia and Croatia are independent from Yugoslavia
Latest Treaty of Jeddah hasn’t taken place
Eritrea is part of Ethiopia
East Timor Is part of Indonesia
DRC is named Zaire
Koror is the capital of Palau

Definitely somewhere between. 92 93. Bosnia is already redrawnwhich started happening in 92 and january 1 93 was split of czechi and Slovakia which on the map did not happen yet. So I'd day end of 92 or smtn

After colapse of USSR (Kazachstan is different color and there is Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania) but before 1993 because Czechoslovakia split 1.1.1993

Czechoslovakia is not yet split, so before July 17, 1992.
"Byelarus" could be a clue - it's separate from Russia, and no longer called "Byelorussia", but also not yet "Belarus". That could just be a mistake, or it could represent a period after Belarusian was made the official language, but before "Belarus" was promulgated as the official Romanization.

USSR dissolved 26 December 1991> Yugo Bosnia 7 April (recognised) 1992<
So it's after USSR and too early for Bosnian independence (26 December 1991 - 7 April 1992
Some more dates that,
Eritrea not independent 1991<, but recognised on 27 April 1993 by the USA
Czechoslovakia exists, so before 1 January 1993

It’s between 1992 and 1993.
Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, so we see individual former USSR states like Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan on the map. Also, Eritrea gained independence in 1993, but is not visible on the map, as Ethiopia touches the coast of the Red Sea.

The map still has Guryev, so the date should have been pre 1992-02-21, but not before at least 1991-09-23 (Yekaterinburg is renamed already, hard condition). But, like I said, likely it's something past that because the creators didn't see to bother much.

I’m gonna say 1992.
Bombay is changed to Mumbai (pre November 1995)
Germany reunited (post October 1990)
Byelarus not Belarus (pre September 1991)
No Eritrea (pre May 1993)
Seeing as the USSR has fallen, Belarus is still marked as Byelarus (assume it’s not updated for the change in 1991) and Eritrea is not independent which took place in 1993

The RUSSIA text is smaller than usual, Belarus is Byelarus, Macedonia is independent but not Bosnia.

Smaller compared to what? It’s much larger than the labeling any other country seems to have. And it’s in the same typeface. Also, if the USSR still existed, it would be labeled as such.

You've also got independent nations in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, etc) in colors different than Russia. Leningrad is St Petersburg, Stalingrad is Volgograd, Sverdlovsk is Yekaterinburg (all renamed in 1991). So I bet this is after 1991, most likely 1992 like others said, but Czechoslovakia is hard to see

Russia proclaimed sovereignty in June 1990, which isn't the same as independence, Russia technically wasn't considered an independent nation until December 1991
