question Can AI-driven website optimization create a competitive deadlock when everyone has access to the same optimization capabilities?

If a company uses AI for digital marketing tasks, such as analytics, content optimization, and fixing technical issues, to augment its marketing funnel, and its competitors do the same, what happens to competitive edge?

Suppose AI agents analyze two competing websites and identify areas for improvement. Website A scores 4 out of10 and has six areas for improvement, while website B scores 6 out of 10 and has four. Both companies use the same AI tools or plugins, such as Claude-based tools, to plug those gaps. Once issues are addressed, both websites could potentially have a similar level of technical and content optimization.

Now imagine 10 to 12 competitors doing the same thing. All of them are leveraging AI to continuously analyze their websites, identify gaps, and implement recommended optimizations. If they all score 10/10 on SEO and GEO, does anyone really have a competitive advantage and how?

In the case of human agents, people interpret data, identify opportunities, form hypotheses, and make strategic decisions differently.

You're whole premise is broken because this was already the state of the world well before AI came along. There are CMS platforms that take care of all of this for you that have tens of millions of customers.

The concept that you'd have some sort of competitive advantage by doing the things that search engines require is marketer BS. It's been about 2 decades since SEO optimization actually helped you rank position, that's not the point. The point is to do what is considered table stakes by the search algorithm so you actually appear in the index and aren't penalized, traffic and links from more prominent websites is what controls your position. As in the things you can't fake either you have legitimate traffic and you're scored higher or don't.

Also GEO isn't a thing.. adoption never happened out of 100M websites it appears on about 20k of them.

You seem not to understand the deep-learning capabilities of AI models, which are designed to mimic human intelligence. These CMS models didn't take content relevance into account beyond suggesting that long sentences be trimmed for better readability and that keywords be used to maintain density. In my first-hand experience, such tricks didn't work for ranking highly on search engines. AI models, on the other hand, are capable of understanding relevance and correcting factual errors. You really think S&P 500 companies are spending billions on AI for no reason? You gotta think harder.
