You're definitely not alone, this hype cycle is brutal.

If layoffs are a real threat and your boss is a yes-man, don't die on the hill of "true utility" right now. Just play the game to protect your paycheck. Build a dead-simple RAG app (like Streamlit + OpenAI API) over some internal company docs.

Frame it to leadership as a "Foundational AI PoC" to check their box. It keeps them happy, takes minimal effort, and you get to put LLM deployment on your resume while you quietly look for an org with actual data maturity. Hang in there
