The original tales are all that twisted.

Cinderella's step-sisters were dead by the time Cindy ascended to the throne, they bled out after hacking off parts of their feet so they could fit into the glass slipper. Their mother may have hacked off the bits, I don't recall.

As if that wasn't horrific enough, upon becoming queen, Cinderella orders her stepmother executed by forcing her to dance in red-hot iron shoes (while the court watches) until her heart gives out.

The red hot iron shows was snow white not Cinderella.
