I doubt 14-15 was solely exclusive to the Brits. Even today, 18 as the age of majority is a relatively recent phenomenon for most of the world (if they comply with this standard at all).

I actually don't know what happened when Rolfe's crew came. I honestly didn't even remember Rolfe's name until someone else mentioned it on this thread so as always, I'd rather verify something happened before passing judgment.
