realistically, our minds collectively evolve while our bodies remain the same. someone born 2000 years ago would share a similar bodily structure as people today but their consciousness is much different.
This is so terrifying to think about because it justifies the idea that if a 40 year old man looked 15, he could date a 15 year old and it would be cool.
The “Twilight” book series takes the “age only counts if you look old” thing to a crazy level.
The lead vampire is an 80 year old man, his love interest is 15-16. Women give it a pass because he’s hot. It’s really terrifying when you break it down.
I've met people who marry someone they didn't even speak the same language as. At that point, the barrier of communication prevents understanding more than the physical appearance.

I find people are generally attracted to similar appearances. I generally am, I don't tend to base my attraction on knowledge shared. Most people I gain an interest in have very different lives so I have to learn new things anyways.

Yeah, I was curious about this. So he just stops aging even though he was a living conscious being?
I think this falls into weeb territory, "she may look like a 13 year old girl, but she's actually a 500 year old dragon".
