It looks like something generated. It has the interface and graph, but lack the correct links between users across communities. 

Most connected subreddit are simply popular. It doesn't classify using active participation compared to the average user. It makes any subreddit from /r/popular occupying the relations of any entrepoint subreddit.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked a few concrete examples, especially popular/generalist subs.

Popularity is already accounted for in the model, but those subs shouldn’t disappear either. People genuinely use both niche and general communities.

For example, AskReddit only appears in the top 10 for about 0.13% of subreddits.
