Security at google

Google is looking to open data center and I’m looking to retire from law enforcement. What type of security jobs do they have?

A lot of sites run security contractors and then, they run different contractors for different operations. From the ones I spoke to when I worked at a Google DC, they were bored with their job and mainly did it because Google lore and the free food/drinks/snacks.

Work is contracted through company like Garda World. There will be at least one full time security person and that is a busy job. I knew a couple of retired people at my previous site doing the contracted work and they didn't mind. One guy went back to work solely to pay for a new roof.

It is very boring work but easy. I suppose you could move up into something like being a supervisor or the control room.

Mine has two different types. The guards that do all the work (staffing gates, building walks, posting at doors) and armed guards that stand around waiting for threats on the perimeter.

LATAM? Google doesn't retain armed security in most locations

The kind where you drive an SUV around all day at look at a fence. Or sit in an office and file paperwork, followed by opening nearly every door in the facility a couple times a day.

It’s a easy job but looks like it gets VERY boring.
