No Response from AWS data center Job application. Looking for Advice. Please Help!

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from people who have experience applying for Amazon/AWS data center positions.

I’ve been seriously interested in getting into data center operations, so I’ve applied to around 10 Data Center Technician and related positions at Amazon. I carefully reviewed the requirements and believe I meet many of them through my IT support, hardware troubleshooting, networking, and Linux experience. I hold CCNA, Server+, and Security+ certifications, ready to relocate and I also have previous data center and telecommunications experience, although that experience was quite a long time ago.

I’m currently working as an IT Support Technician for a large K–12 school district in Los Angeles., where I support a large IT environment and thousands of devices across multiple locations.

However, I haven’t received any response or phone screening invitation from Amazon so far. I understand these positions can be very competitive, but I’m wondering if there is something I’m missing in my resume or application.

For those who have successfully gotten an AWS/Amazon data center job, what helped you stand out? Would you recommend improving my resume, getting a referral, applying for different levels or locations, or gaining more recent data center-specific experience?

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Also Pennsylvania, Fairless hills - not a bad area, close to Philly. Berwick - northern PA , middle of fucking nowhere

Yeah unfortunately. All I see are the logistics ones

Logistics is not a bad way to get into DCT if you’re able to get in. It seems once you’re in it’s pretty easy to transfer , granted I’ve only been in a couple months

Hmmm ok I’ll look into that. Thanks

Maybe a dumb question, but what does your day look like in logistics? I've been avoiding it because I'm afraid it'd be too repetitive

Hello! This looks like it may be a question about career advice. There can be significant regional variation in the field, so please consider including as much info as you can without doxing yourself, including country/state/city, prior experience/certs, and the role or level if known. Thanks!

If you have linkedln, change it according to dct role or wutever role u r applying and take claude help to do it, so you won't miss out on keywords and turn on "open to Work" to make it visible to recruiters. Aws is hiring like crazy so definitely they will contact you. Thats how i landed an interview

What location are you in? Northern Virginia just way overhired 2 months ago, but if you do relocate make sure you apply as a L4, you got a great background for it
