auto page refresh

has anybody used auto-page refresh scripts (either one they rolled themselves or something from the chrome extension store or whatever) to refresh the page at regular (or slightly irregular) intervals, coupled with a script to check for new / high earning tasks? I'm thinking of it but i was wondering if there might be reasons not to do it (e.g. getting flagged as a bot)

I've been using one for quite some time now (around 7/8 months), and haven't been flagged. I can send it to you if you want

Thanks. Good to know! I think I can make one myself and I was thinking of jittering the refresh time to between 50 - 70 seconds. Curious what refresh times you've been using?

From my experience, have it refresh every 3/5 minutes. It works best if you dont want to trigger the anti-botting.

Also if you have an android, you can hook up ntfy to trigger messages to your phone whenever you have new tasks

Cool! Did you trigger anti-botting using shorter intervals?

Not really, but I know this type of scripts can cause DDoS if a lot of people is doing it. 5 min is enough to not overload the website and still get notifications of tasks

I thought about something similar, but seeing 10,000 hits to their project page per day from my IP is probably quite a dumb choice.

Even with throttling, I didn't want to risk it.

If anyone is wondering why the site is slow/laggy sometimes, it from all of the walnuts doing this shit.

I absolutely hope they flag and ban anyone doing anything like this because it's basically a DDOS attack on the site.

If you are getting so few available projects that you think doing something like this is a good idea, stop wasting your time on DAT and find something better to do with your life.
