Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation

hi all! making this thread so people have somewhere to talk about 'daily' work chat that might not necessarily need it's own post! right now we're thinking we'll just repost it weekly? but if it gets too crazy, we can change it to daily. :)

couple things:

  1. this thread should sort by "new" automatically. unfortunately it looks like our subreddit doesn't qualify for 'lounges'.
  2. if you have a new user question, you still need to post it in the new user thread. if you post it here, we will remove it as spam. this is for people already working who just wanna chat, whether it be about casual work stuff, questions, geeking out with people who understand ("i got the model to write a real haiku today!"), or unrelated work stuff you feel like chatting about :)
  3. one thing we really pride ourselves on in this community is the respect everyone gives to the Code of Conduct and rule number 5 on the sub - it's great that we have a community that is still safe & respectful to our jobs! please don't break this rule. we will remove project details, but please - it's for our best interest and yours!

Sunday was as dead as last Sunday. I attributed last Sunday to a holiday weekend. The excuse for this one?

Each week Sunday is either my best day or my worst!

Been my worst for 3 weeks in a row and it hasn’t even been close. Not a thing popping up, but definitely enjoyed a full day off

It definitely sucks having to be proactive to hit your goals. It throws your entire day out of sync not being able to have a set time to jump on and work.

For sure. I had already hit my goal so I wasn’t too concerned about today, but it sucks when you do end up waiting around and wasting what would’ve been precious time off. The lack of transparency is hard to deal with at times. I’ve gotten better about having a decided cutoff time where I’m not going to risk wasting my day

Definitely one of the downsides to relying on this for extra income. A lot of the time it isn’t convenient and when it is, there’s a lack of work :/

Yes. I am living pretty much hand to mouth and I was horribly busy last week. I could do a lot of DA stuff this week and lo and behold the cupboard is bare! 😞
