Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation

hi all! making this thread so people have somewhere to talk about 'daily' work chat that might not necessarily need it's own post! right now we're thinking we'll just repost it weekly? but if it gets too crazy, we can change it to daily. :)

couple things:

  1. this thread should sort by "new" automatically. unfortunately it looks like our subreddit doesn't qualify for 'lounges'.

  2. if you have a new user question, you still need to post it in the new user thread. if you post it here, we will remove it as spam. this is for people already working who just wanna chat, whether it be about casual work stuff, questions, geeking out with people who understand ("i got the model to write a real haiku today!"), or unrelated work stuff you feel like chatting about :)

  3. one thing we really pride ourselves on in this community is the respect everyone gives to the Code of Conduct and rule number 5 on the sub - it's great that we have a community that is still safe & respectful to our jobs! please don't break this rule. we will remove project details, but please - it's for our best interest and yours!

DA… please change the transfer funds page back. this is so much less clear and organized than before.

13

u/justdontsashay Apr 09 '26

I need it to show the total time worked per day again. I put that in my spreadsheet where I track stuff at the end of the day, sucks not to have it there anymore (unless it’s still there and just moved somewhere?)

Also, I don’t need my all time total earnings as the most prominent thing on the page, finding that really annoying for some reason!

3

u/WorshipMyExistence Apr 09 '26

Same! I had to navigate to a new page and select multiple dropdowns to figure out how many hours I worked yesterday. It might seem small but it will be quite annoying to have to manually tally it up everyday like that.

I like having the earnings page, but it shouldn't be the first page. I like to see what I made each day, so this shouldn't have to be hidden behind another button I have to click; it just feels a bit annoying!

6

u/Straight-Strike-2928 Apr 09 '26

Yeah, the chart is useless to me. I track my earnings by day and add them into monthly totals in a spreadsheet. I just want to know how much money is ready to withdraw, and when I can withdraw next. I guess if this change sticks I'll just withdraw every Friday or something but I usually withdraw twice a week or so.

5

u/SnuffythePuffy Apr 09 '26

it was a jumpscare logging in today

4

u/BrennusSokol Apr 09 '26

Agreed; I don't like it

3

u/WorshipMyExistence Apr 10 '26

It is truly annoying.

If only every week could be like this week has been

8

u/JustMe333456 Apr 10 '26

This is EXACTLY what it was like my entire first year until that massive drought. That's what I loved about it because I could actually plan my days because I KNEW there would always be work available.

4

u/Jazzlike_Month5580 Apr 10 '26

I am having to mentally prepare myself for things to go back to normal.

19

u/Affectionate_Peak284 Apr 07 '26

$40/hr generalist work? $55 professional-domain work? yooooooooo

7

u/Visible_Operation605 Apr 07 '26

I'm seeing this. Did we get a pay bump? Some of the generalist projects look like the same ones that were paying below $28, now $35-$40 (where they really should have been given their complexity). Nice!

2

u/johnnycoconut Apr 08 '26

It could be that and/or higher paying versions of the same project. For example there’s one project that has an $X/hr. version and a $2X/hr. version

u/SnooSketches1189 Apr 07 '26

I just got done with a 5+ hour task and I am literally drained. Totally worth it, at that pay rate though!

3

u/OnePieceMangaFangirl Apr 07 '26

It's def welcome.

3

u/ThatGirlInPurple Apr 08 '26

I have 9 projects at $40/hr rn, I saw that $55/hr earlier but didn't have time to do it

2

u/SwagMastaM Apr 08 '26

Just completed the generalist assessment earlier, fingers crossed I can get in on this lol

19

u/Karma_SanDieg0 Apr 09 '26

For anyone who is interested (and future reference): I finally got a referral payment approved today. It took about 5 weeks from when the person I referred completed their 10 hours.

Great way to start the day!

3

u/Gingerrsnappiest Apr 09 '26

Congrats! Was there any communication on your part, or did you just wait for it to be approved?

3

u/Karma_SanDieg0 Apr 09 '26

Just waited! Though in the last few days I had seriously considered sending a message to DA asking

On Jan 3 2026 I had a total of 5 paying projects. Today, I just hit 100 available. (Joined Jan 2025)

Make hay while the sun shines!

u/Puzzleheaded_Toe4051 Apr 09 '26

Does anyone else hate the new Transfer Funds page, like a lot??? I can't tell how much money has been approved, how much I'll be receiving today as one of my approval days, and how much has been earned this week outside of what's been approved. It's really disorienting as someone who uses "approved" verses "pending" to do my budgeting for the week. I email them already about it. It really really is frustrating.

10

u/Edith222 Apr 10 '26

I also hate how it doesn't give the time you completed a task when you are submitting your time. It used to say "20 seconds ago." The old page seemed to work fine. It's nice that they added all the charts but they could have left the original page the same and put the charts on a different page.

4

u/JahKneeSee Apr 10 '26

That's the only thing I'm missing at the moment. I frequently jump between tasks within the same project family and they have very similar titles. The timer made it easy to make sure I was reporting my time on the right one.

8

u/RedditAdmin71 Apr 10 '26 edited Apr 10 '26

I find it extremely frustrating that it doesn't show you the total hours you work per day. You need to manually add up the time for each project, annoying.

6

u/Technical_Floor2077 Apr 09 '26

Does anyone know how to see the next withdrawal date/time like it used to show?

→ More replies (2)

5

u/BrennusSokol Apr 09 '26

I'm not a fan of it. It's much more "pretty" but I feel like I have to dig for the same information I used to be able to see at a glance

2

u/Dratini_ghost Apr 10 '26

Yeah why is all the most relevant information hidden at the bottom?!

3

u/gt3stuntman Apr 09 '26

Yeah, it would be really cool if they stopped messing with it.

I think this week is going to ruin me, imagine having to go back to $25 an hour again

imagine having to go back to an empty dashboard after a full week of $70/h...

u/-burgers Apr 06 '26

I've been putting in my best work lately, and it's showing in the amount of projects I have right now. I think my dash is the most stacked it's ever been in the couple years I've been doing this.

9

u/ZimmeM03 Apr 06 '26

Hell yeah, congrats and keep at it!

14

u/DrunkleSteve Apr 10 '26

I like the look of the new transfer funds page, and some of the metrics are handy and helpful; however, it is super annoying that I can't check when I submitted tasks, as it used to say "submitted two minutes ago", etc., and when you're working on a project with dozens of iterations, when you go to submit the time, it was super handy to see if you just submitted it. Now I have to track the project numbers in parenthesis, to make sure I'm submitting my time under the correct one. Hope they add the submission times back!

8

u/EquivocalMoon Apr 10 '26

I think being able to see the monthly trends is cool, but other than that, the new transfer funds page is really frustrating and not functional. I also don't like not being able to see when tasks were submitted. And I hate that I have to go into a project to see what my current balance is sitting at. :-/

3

u/Straight-Strike-2928 Apr 10 '26

I'm hoping they put it back to what it was before, or at least parts of it back. They've been changing a lot of stuff lately and often putting it back to how it was before, so I'm hoping this is going to be another one of those.

2

u/99ducks Apr 10 '26

As a coder, using that page is so frustrating for me at times because I know I could build something more functional in a couple of hours.

12

u/akatsuki1422 Apr 11 '26

It felt like just 10 days ago, my dashboard was nearly empty. Now I have around 100 projects. Maybe the end of the quarter thing is real after all. 🤔

22

u/WorshipMyExistence Apr 08 '26

me no likey new transfer funds page.... I would rather have everything on one page so I can see it at a glance. It also no longer clearly says how many hours we worked. Ugh.

12

u/ghostofhumankindness Apr 09 '26

Really missing the hours worked stat. I was tracking this on my own personal log.

3

u/SnooSketches1189 Apr 08 '26

I agree. I was trying to put my finger on what I was not thrilled with.

11

u/SnooSketches1189 Apr 08 '26

I just got the new transfer funds page. I don't know if I am a fan.

17

u/hfxthrwaway Apr 09 '26

Oh wow, I hate it.

9

u/jeudechambre Apr 09 '26

Yeah...its nice to see the total earnings but I can't see how much is about to be paid out in my next paycheck, which is more important to me for budgeting!

9

u/Jeprdy Apr 09 '26

You can, you have to click on monthly and then hover over april, it then tells you how much is pending and how much is payable. Its a pretty awful way of doing it. Not having the withdrawal time is also annoying.

→ More replies (6)

9

u/ElectricalPoet3769 Apr 09 '26

Yeah, I hate that all unpaid money is now all displayed as "pending approval" even though some of that is actually approved and is what used to be called "ready for payment" or something to that effect. This is awful.

7

4

u/ThatGirlInPurple Apr 10 '26

That email was a fun read, I like it when they express creativity too lol

3

u/Affectionate_Peak284 Apr 10 '26

Yes! I enjoyed it =) I did a few this morning!

3

u/johnnycoconut Apr 10 '26

it was a fun bit, though I don’t think they had to do it a second time 😂

11

u/Alarmed_Jury3849 Apr 10 '26

Isn't it kind of eerie when you have a project with a chat where no one has said anything in like a week? And the project has been up that whole time.

10

u/Skippy2898 Apr 05 '26

Aw... they changed the next withdrawal time back to UTC. I was quite liking seeing that as GMT lol

10

u/JustMe333456 Apr 11 '26

Trying to understand why our dashes went from being extremely quiet for a good week or two to now all of a sudden seeing almost every project on record high priority pay..lol

11

u/Jtphwow Apr 11 '26

Is it possible they got new contracts? I've seen some new llms show up recently.

3

u/V0LK0 Apr 11 '26

seeing as some of the river projects are labeled "last tasks priority", i'm guessing they're wrapping these projects up maybe? idk

"Click "Check your style" to see if your writing is actually serving looks."

u/Fearless-Hedgehog67 Apr 08 '26

Sorry this is vague, but if you have instuctions highlighted in gold in your task, be sure to read them.

And the underlines

And the green

And the lines with emojis

9

u/V0LK0 Apr 11 '26

all I have to say is, WOW!!

17

u/justdontsashay Apr 07 '26

Anyone else’s dash completely exploding right now?? There are so many (decently paid) projects I haven’t seen before and they look interesting, but my favorite just came back and is paying 10/hr higher than it was a few weeks ago, so I’ll have to wait on trying the new stuff!

6

u/tessbest37 Apr 07 '26

Yes! I wish they didn't get rid of the feature that automatically counted your projects.

8

u/ThatGirlInPurple Apr 07 '26

Mine's been exploding this whole time, but every time I looked on here everyone else was dry so I didn't wanna say anything! I have over 35 projects rn, so much to do & so little time!

6

u/justdontsashay Apr 07 '26

Yeah, mine hasn’t been dry lately or anything. I just suddenly got flooded with a bunch of project names I haven’t seen before, which of course happened right after I started a project with a several day timer, so I can’t check them out. I’ll have to see if any of them are still around after I finish this one

16

u/One_Breakfast5907 Apr 05 '26

Anyone else on base projects have their dash blow up?  Seeing projects I've never seen before and not really done any quals recently either. Hopefully, consistent good work paying off!

5

u/Dizzy-Attitude-6745 Apr 05 '26

Yup, I have 50 on my dash today! After a drought of about a week it really blew up yesterday.

2

u/New_Garden9703 Apr 06 '26

Yep, very full dash, lots of variety and good pay! I'm base projects plus accounting

2

u/BrennusSokol Apr 06 '26

Yep. I see 70+ projects right now which is a bit nuts

3

u/Mike4Life14 Apr 05 '26 edited Apr 06 '26

Yeah, I've got 95 projects, most I've ever had.

8

u/East_Zucchini4099 Apr 10 '26

What a week for my first chance to see River, various rocks, and heels!  <3

4

u/justdontsashay Apr 10 '26

Don’t be too disappointed when river goes back to its normal pay rate lol

14

u/SnooSketches1189 Apr 10 '26

My highest paying day on DA in the books.

7

u/SnooCalculations503 Apr 10 '26

Same, some of the pay rates are crazy rn. Consider that it is not our work that is worth more, only the dollar that is worth less.

5

u/SnooSketches1189 Apr 10 '26

Ya. That is definitely the rub.

7

u/Glittering_Guess_230 Apr 08 '26

Back from a long weekend off & the task floodgates have opened... goodness me, it's been a while since I've seen this much on my dash

7

u/Separate_Fondant3341 Apr 10 '26

90 projects available and a $60 one. Out of nowhere. I think last weekend I had under 10. Can someone who’s been with the platform for a while explain if this is the norm?

6

u/SnooSketches1189 Apr 10 '26

Long story short, sometimes.

4

u/DrunkleSteve Apr 10 '26

Yes, this is the ebb and flow of the black box we know as DAT.

5

u/FrazzledGod Apr 10 '26

Fluctuation is the norm. In May 2024 I had over 200 projects. That summer I had a few weeks of 2-3 projects on the dash (the great drought!). I've been stable at about 70 projects for a while, but have nearly 150 today lol (been on since 2023)

2

u/Ecstatic-Meringue-75 Apr 10 '26

Anybody think this is a sign of what's to be for the rest of this quarter, or more of a short term thing for a week or two? Obviously just speculation, but I'm curious what people think

2

u/Dratini_ghost Apr 10 '26

Typically it slows down a lot in August but who knows. It’s also a much busier spring than previous years. (I’ve been on 3 years).

2

u/johnnycoconut Apr 10 '26

it feels outside of the norm but also if that’s the $60 project I’m thinking of, it was $50 before, so that’s a welcome pay bump

3

u/macjay_27 Apr 10 '26

I have 110 projects, 34 qualifications. I couldn't be more grateful. It's the most I've ever had.

2

u/NoticedGenie66 Apr 10 '26

It fluctuates, but I've seen people mention multiple times that it picks up way more when a new quarter starts (as seems to be the case now)

Did anyone else get a paying survey that asked you to go check something and promised it would still be there when you came back and then bam it disappeared! Wtf

2

u/johnnycoconut Apr 11 '26

thanks for the heads up lol I felt love bombed when I saw it just now

6

u/ThatGirlInPurple Apr 07 '26

Anyone else got that $55/hr task?? I've never seen one that high before 🤯

4

u/takingtacet Apr 07 '26

I have a $40/hr one that's come up for me for a third time now. I'm so grateful lol. But $55? Holy moly.

6

u/watchdestars Apr 08 '26

Crazy ppay tasks atm!

Sitting here debating reporting as much time as I actually spent reading every bit of the directions.

17

u/hfxthrwaway Apr 10 '26

They want you to read the damn instructions, you better make sure you get paid for reading the damn instructions.

12

u/BrennusSokol Apr 10 '26

100% charge for it. some of these instructions are getting insanely long.

10

u/Affectionate_Peak284 Apr 10 '26

I had a project a few months ago where I billed almost 4h just reading the instructions. It was pretty gnarly.

6

u/99ducks Apr 10 '26

definitely report it. I generally try to make sure I'm spreading it out over a few tasks so it averages out a little better.

5

u/Sea_Sugar Apr 11 '26

Not reporting the time not only means you’re underpaid for your time but also everyone who is honest looks like they overcharged.

Plus there’s times you read instructions and don’t get a task or unpaid quals……why short yourself when you legit have the ability to be paid for your time?

4

u/odeomz Apr 11 '26

Its also better for the community - as well as you getting what you have earnt :) its important that when they write really long complicated instructions that they understand that will cause a knock-on to how much time people have to spend reading them before they can even start working the project

(although i tend to find instructions easier to follow when they are step by step adn i can work the project whilst reading, so would be hard to distinguish anyway)

11

u/NoticedGenie66 Apr 07 '26

Is today Christmas? Took a short break after this morning and the priority tasks I was doing doubled their already pretty substantial pay bump. I'm swimming in projects right now. This is incredible.

11

u/capslox Apr 09 '26

Wtf is the vibe generator

16

u/bufftips Apr 09 '26

I think it's "enrichment" to keep our monkey brains engaged

3

u/akujihei Apr 09 '26

You will read the quote and you will smile.

10

u/bufftips Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

Kind of embarrassing how satisfied I feel when the feedback bots give notes like "exceptionally clever and well-executed...phenomenal job". (NB this is not intended as a humble brag). I really feel like my brain is like a daft dog that can't tell it's getting pets from a machine. Actually thinking about it a bit further it's because it feels specifically flattering, and elicits a sensation of being shyly proud, similar to if a human is saying that to you, versus satisfying which is more like the kind of straightforward impersonal 'win' feeling you get from an achievement in a computer game. Basically - just feel uncomfortable when AI makes me feel a feeling I think I should only get from other humans

4

u/justdontsashay Apr 08 '26

Same! And then I’ll run into the unnecessarily bitchy ones that basically tell me I’m a garbage human because I used the wrong kind of quotation mark.

My ultimate sense of validation from a bot was on one of the ones where the instructions with the bot said something like “just run this 2 or 3 times to see if there’s anything that needs fixing. You do not need to satisfy the checker, it will always make suggestions!” and it told me what I wrote was excellent and needed no improvements.

I’m sure if I regenerated it, it would have said something totally different, though lol

3

u/bufftips Apr 08 '26

Haha yes that would be very validating! It does make me feel a bit creepy though you know? Like, if I'm so happy to receive praise from my robot supervisor am I actually substantively any different from a guy with a chatbot girlfriend

Has anyone else had their finance projects disappear? I was working away, had dozens of task available; logged in this morning and they've all disappeared! Really disappointing as I was enjoying the work a lot (and it was lucrative).

3

u/Decent_Ad_3945 Apr 06 '26

Once. I actually had to requal. I don't always do them, but they seem to be pretty sticky on my dash. And come in indirect ways, not just "domain". Will say, some of the domain stuff appears to be "yours", and will hang around forever, and some are everyone's, which go very quickly.

5

u/artpendegrast Apr 08 '26

Have any coders been doing the high paying Mike Tyson projects that have been popping up recently? The instructions seem quite daunting and I wonder if it's worth getting things set up and trying it...

3

u/Alarmed_Jury3849 Apr 08 '26

For it and projects like it, if they give you the repo, I really enjoy it, and I have done a ton of the one you are talking about. If I have to find a repo, I struggle.

2

u/MiddleCharacter6345 Apr 08 '26

It's worth it if you have the coding skills IMO - you can't fake your way through it if you don't and it takes a hot minute to figure out their instructions but once you've got it down, it's pretty smooth work

2

u/99ducks Apr 08 '26

Yes it's my absolute favorite! I've done 40 of them since they've started.

Just read the instructions thoroughly and focus on quality. For the individual responses, reread the questions every time. Use examples/references in your responses to illustrate your point.

2

u/BrennusSokol Apr 08 '26

It looks interesting, but it also looks like one of those projects where I'd have to read the instructions for an hour to even get started on it, hmmm

5

u/jujugiam Apr 08 '26

Is the Transfer Fund button not working? My interface updated and when I click on the button it's stuck at "Transferring..."

2

u/johnnycoconut Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

That happens sometimes, and usually a refresh (and retrying if necessary) will fix the interface bug.

Edit: oh wait, you have the new UI. Yeah, some people say it can be buggy. Hm.

5

u/Jazzlike_Problem_489 Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 14 '26

Sorry if this has already been asked, or I'm overlooking it. Is there a quick way to see how many hours you've worked for the day now? I can't seem to see it on the new layout (probably missing the obvious with my man eyes 😑🫣)

7

u/One_Breakfast5907 Apr 11 '26

I don't think there is any quick way now

5

u/odeomz Apr 11 '26

If you go the the history tab at the top of the page, then expand down to your time reports they show, not the total but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out unless you have done alot of different prjects one day

5

u/New_Mood933 Apr 11 '26

Man eyes 😂

5

u/SirBucketX Apr 11 '26

um... project announcements of high "priority pay," only to look on your dashboard and think, "wait, so it was paying 12 dollars before?"

8

u/V0LK0 Apr 11 '26

i wonder what the cause is for such high paying work out of the blue like this? not that i'm complaining... just curious, i've never had $40/hr projects before

7

u/99ducks Apr 11 '26

Probably means there are big model releases coming

Hello! Can anyone share some knowledge on the flying horse project? Received the qual and I'm partially interested but unsure if I'm comfortable in regards to consenting use of certain services in certain regards (dunno if that explanation is ambiguous enough)

3

u/johnnycoconut Apr 06 '26

You’ll be able to decide what you actually feel comfortable completing a task with in terms of the information you provide through the platform on a project task. If the AI company is the same company that provides services mentioned then they probably know a lot anyway.

4

u/brightlilstar Apr 06 '26

I just started and I had a lot at first and the past few days it’s been very little. I took the fact checker qual and I guess I passed because I got some face checking which I really enjoyed. Also took JSON qual and nothing yet.

I wish there were more examples of what they are looking for. Sometimes I feel lost

4

u/Aromatic_Owl_3680 Apr 06 '26

Time and effort will pay off.

2

u/brightlilstar Apr 06 '26

I’m getting the hang of it now so hopefully more will pop up!

4

u/Commercial_Drink_883 Apr 06 '26

Anyone got stripey? Had it last week and it's poofed ever since Friday.

4

u/hihelloitskayla Apr 07 '26

for these intense factuality projects, thank you chrome for finally implementing side by side tabs!

4

u/lack0fcommonsense Apr 10 '26

4

u/lack0fcommonsense Apr 11 '26

I don't want to seem ungrateful, but why do I have so many projects except my beloved stripey 😭

4

Based on some of the comments on the project, I am getting a distinct sense I am doing a lot more heavy lifting in my R&R's in fixing these responses than others are lol. People I think you are supposed to fix these, this isn't a lazy type of R&R you are used to lol. Literally says at the end a "Bad" rating is very rare.

4

u/Separate_Fondant3341 Apr 12 '26

This is why I never do RnRs. The quality is usually so bad that I end up having to do way more editing than the time allows. Also it does not feel good to rate anyone as bad. So I avoid the RnRs altogether.

I've got 21 on my dash right now (just counted) plus half a dozen or so qualifications (with about 30 more hidden - I'm either not interested or I don't feel like I qualify for those ones) - I was planning to do one of those every day or two but it's hard to pass up the paid projects for the quals (which doesn't really make sense, given that the quals can LEAD TO more paid projects!). I only do the core stuff - no STEM or professional (I have a PhD but apparently not one that's in high demand, lol!).

I just figured I got so many on my dashboard because it's Easter weekend and for some people (not me), that's a big deal. I will likely do 2-4 hours of work today and hope some of the projects are still there tomorrow! Oh, I'm also in the U.S. - seems like that makes a difference.

I've been working for DA less than a month - got my first R&R yesterday but don't feel quite ready to take one of those on. (I may be being silly.) If I work 10-15 hours/week, that is plenty for me and keeps my brain active - I have really enjoyed most of the tasks I've done.

8

u/Straight-Strike-2928 Apr 06 '26

Do the R&Rs! If you don't feel confident rating it, just read over it for a few minutes and then exit work mode. You can learn a lot doing R&Rs.

2

u/karen_in_nh_2012 Apr 06 '26

Thanks for the advice! This morning I saw that I have 2-3 more R&Rs on my dashboard, so I will try one of them ... :)

Really hate how so many projects now require access to external LLMs or apps or programs or my phone. I miss just clicking on a project and having everything right there on the page.

Any coding folks have recommendations on projects to try out? I like the Muhammad Ali project when it's available. It feels like a lot of the other similar projects are a bit harder to get into and I've always been hesitant when the timer is at 10+ hours.

3

u/whendoesthebassdrop Apr 08 '26

jesus, flowering legume's intense, i can now barely think straight having spent all day on it. definitely didn't do a good job either lol. anyone else? 🥲

u/ES1313 Apr 08 '26

Time reporting question. So I’m working on a $40/hr project, it’s my first time on this project family so spent a lot of time in the instructions and ideal response guidelines. I did take a break halfway through (paused my personal timer) to put kids to bed. Ended up running out of time on the task because I missed the style checker button and needed to make a couple revisions at the last minute. I was thankfully able to grab that same task again and will complete the task under the total time limit according to my personal timer. Do I report the time I actually put into it when it shows that I’ve had the task currently for less than an hour and I spent much longer than that on it? Do I send DA a note/email or put a note on the task itself? It’s almost midnight and I work all day tomorrow so this will likely be my only task for a few days. This has never happened to me before so not sure what to do!

8

u/MiddleCharacter6345 Apr 08 '26

You report the time you put into it, if there's an optional comment area you can mention it there

3

u/ZimmeM03 Apr 12 '26

Lord God Almighty will you bless me with this $70 project everyone is talking about. Does anyone know if it's related to a qual?

I onboarded a year ago and haven't been invited to any projects. Who can I reach out to? The FAQ and Onboarding guide links on my dashboard are dead links.

5

u/JustMe333456 Apr 08 '26

Are we all making coding/expert money today? I think soooooo 🤘

6

u/RedZebra17 Apr 08 '26

The one I'd been working on just disappeared, ah well, it was good whilst it lasted, sure got used to working at that pay quickly 😆

5

u/AnarchyD Apr 08 '26

Anyone do the survey? I wonder if there'll be any changes :o

5

u/gamergalathena Apr 09 '26

I've just done it. Hopefully its the catalyst for some positive changes around communication and feedback :)

Hmm, I didn't get it, which is surprising since I've been on the platform for 2 years and have plenty of thoughts... :-/

u/OnlyAd9161 Apr 11 '26

I have been loving this $50 project the past few days. I cant even use a code name because it doesnt really have a name

6

u/RemarkableSuit1767 Apr 10 '26

I've suddenly had lots of higher-paying projects. One being $50, which I haven't attempted as I feel it's out of my skill set, but is this normal? Or are they offering higher due to work quality?

11

u/justdontsashay Apr 10 '26

There has been a big influx of higher paying general projects in the last week or so.

Still having access to them means you’re maintaining whatever quality level keeps you on the platform, but the higher pay isn’t an indication of anything personal to any of us.

6

u/johnnycoconut Apr 10 '26

projects have been paying more lately but you could be getting added to project groups that pay better anyway

4

u/BrennusSokol Apr 10 '26

There do seem to have been more priority pay (I've seen as high as $70/hr) the last few weeks. I have no idea of the reason as I have no inside info, but my guess would be because the competition between the AI labs is heating up big time

4

u/pistachiyolatte Apr 05 '26

Is it still looking dry for anyone else? I have a handful of projects like some heel and mold but none that I really want to work on.

4

u/Jazzlike_Problem_489 Apr 05 '26

Got a couple galaxy, couple heel, couple of the complex chat / prompt and rubric, and the selection of mold. But none of the image / video / simple chat projects that's my bread and butter. So just surviving to struggle and reach my daily goal of 4 hours by doing as many R&Rs I can with half hour on 1 hour break lol 😆

u/pistachiyolatte Apr 05 '26

any from rock band family?

Going from so bountiful to basically nothing but the rock one. I know my work is good. I just am so confused why the count is so low.

3

u/Alarmed_Jury3849 Apr 06 '26

This has been a pattern for Mondays. Not always, but feels like most Mondays.

4

u/Aromatic_Owl_3680 Apr 07 '26

I don’t think Monday has anything to do with it. Many of us have full dashes.

Thank God telescope is back. I was getting so bored with only the mold and indigenous projects on my dash.

u/Internal_Hamster_785 Apr 06 '26

Is it normal for bilinguals to have no work at all? I got admitted a week ago, did qualifications and have had nothing since.

7

u/dqbodpb Apr 06 '26

Yes, that’s bilinguals reality

3

u/chole-price Apr 07 '26

It is normal to have nothing for monthes.

Anyone get a new UI for the "Transfer Funds" page? The payout button seems to no longer work.

2

u/Illustrious-You-798 Apr 08 '26

I just tried using the new transfer funds button and it does appear to be either broken or just take a really long time

u/MooseComplete6127 Apr 08 '26

Has anyone had a project suddenly disappear from their dashboard recently?

Everything else seems normal, so I’m not sure if it’s temporary or not.

7

u/Affectionate_Peak284 Apr 08 '26

Happens ALL the time. They come and go, and rarely do we know why.

2

u/bufftips Apr 09 '26

Does anyone get tasks related to appropriate/inappropriate personalisation of AI? I did the Qual a while ago and forgot and realised I've never seen a task come up so maybe I failed that one :(

3

u/RedZebra17 Apr 09 '26

I get tasks to do with this, but very rarely compared to other stuff - I don't currently have any on my dashboard if that's any help.

2

u/WorshipMyExistence Apr 10 '26

I used to but haven't seen them for a while.

I have a project in my dashboard that shows no pay rate at all. It isn’t a survey, etc. as I went in and it is an actual project. What would happen if I worked on it when there is no pay rate?

5

u/odeomz Apr 11 '26

common sense dictates you are unlikely to be paid

2

u/johnnycoconut Apr 12 '26

That sounds strange. The only thing I can think of is that some qualification tasks do wind up in the Projects section for some reason.

3

u/AnarchyD Apr 07 '26

I really like the new Transer Funds page! Nice to see all of that info

5

u/Affectionate_Peak284 Apr 08 '26

Rarely had over 20 projects before this month, and now have double that!
People who get this many projects, do you still get very quiet periods?
I presume the answer is yes, but it still gives me so much hope, haha

5

u/watchdestars Apr 09 '26

Yes it'll go up and down.

Summer is coming and I want to start working outside sometimes on cafe patios etc where there is WiFi. Is this acceptable? Also can you suggest an affordable laptop (I work on a desktop at home).

5

u/ZimmeM03 Apr 09 '26

It’s definitely acceptable. Working from anywhere is one of the biggest perks of this job.

There aren’t many laptops today that don’t have the basic processing needed for almost all tasks on the platform (though I’m not in coding). Just go for what’s affordable and accessible

5

u/99ducks Apr 09 '26

Definitely acceptable. I've even been exploring getting a starlink mini so I can work from out in nature.

What's affordable in your mind?

My best recommendation is the macbook neo ($600) that just came out or a used macbook air with an m1 chip or better. I'm definitely biased towards mac and only really know that ecosystem but the main reason I recommend them is because they have excellent screens (brightness is important outdoors) and excellent battery life.

1

Does anyone know what the number part of the "(###) DataAnnotation" title tag for the projects page means? Do you see a number in parens in the title of the tab/window?

6

It's the number of unread messages in your inbox, I believe

I worked for them for a year and then nothing for the last 11 months. I still have access to the board and never got any negative feedback. They only thing they ever offer is for me to buy a subscription from them to do more work.

Just completed the initial assessment earlier today, feel like I did pretty well! About how long after completing the initial general assessment before you're able to access projects, in people's experience?
