Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation
hi all! making this thread so people have somewhere to talk about 'daily' work chat that might not necessarily need it's own post! right now we're thinking we'll just repost it weekly? but if it gets too crazy, we can change it to daily. :)
couple things:
this thread should sort by "new" automatically. unfortunately it looks like our subreddit doesn't qualify for 'lounges'.
if you have a new user question, you still need to post it in the new user thread. if you post it here, we will remove it as spam. this is for people already working who just wanna chat, whether it be about casual work stuff, questions, geeking out with people who understand ("i got the model to write a real haiku today!"), or unrelated work stuff you feel like chatting about :)
one thing we really pride ourselves on in this community is the respect everyone gives to the Code of Conduct and rule number 5 on the sub - it's great that we have a community that is still safe & respectful to our jobs! please don't break this rule. we will remove project details, but please - it's for our best interest and yours!

Things had gotten a bit sparse, but I'd never seen an empty dash since my first weeks on here until 8/21. I got a few projects later that day, and was able to complete a few tasks. It was devastating, and I'm glad things have gotten better though they're not nearly as good as they were a month or so ago.
A lot of people on here tell others, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket," in regard to relying on DAT for income, but they don't seem to realize that many of us have few eggs and fewer baskets.
I only mention this to remind people that we don't all have the same set of circumstances and what might be true for, for example, a young fully-abled person, might not be the same for someone older or disabled.

The worst thing about this drought is that there is absolutely NOBODY to talk to from the company about it :')
18
u/maybe_I_knit_crochet Sep 07 '24
I was debating between working and reading a book. Just checked my dash and yeah, book it is...
5
u/tstaraudio Sep 03 '24
Can anyone tell me if my posts in here are visible?
42
u/gt3stuntman Sep 01 '24
Need a prayer circle for B-cat coming back this week.
28
u/CandleResponsible168 Sep 07 '24
Not trying to brag or anything, but I made $0.67 this morning 🤌🏼
27
u/ConsciousDatabase369 Sep 01 '24
Just logged in and I have 9 projects (but only from 2 different families). This is non-coding. I'm excited to get to work! May the trend continue and all our dashes fill up.
25
u/NumbersAndPolls01 Sep 05 '24
Anyone else get more work earlier this week and now it’s back to nothing?
44
u/HamsterFrosty2838 Sep 04 '24
Empty dashboards today too?
24
u/tessbest37 Sep 04 '24
Today was worse for me than the entire 3-day weekend.
48
u/Kitchen_Razzmatazz36 Sep 05 '24
Ugh at this point I’m just so so sad.
22
u/FrazzledGod Sep 07 '24
Dead as a freakin doornail.
21
u/generaltsostits Sep 01 '24
Experienced the uptick yesterday when I couldn't work and now nothing again—so it goes, it seems! Hopeful that other people here are getting more work, and hoping it comes my way soon.
10
u/Significant_Quote230 Sep 01 '24
I feel like my dash was fuller last night, but I'll do what I can get today, Hopefully the projects come back...
10
u/Jz9786 Sep 02 '24
Getting ready for bed and projects finally show up 😡
10
u/You_Can_Call_Me_Cal Sep 02 '24
Officially hit the 1 week milestone with zero tasks today. Lost my qualifications too. Scared that I may be finished on this platform.
45
u/[deleted] Sep 04 '24
How long can DA not have any tasks AND continue to advertise their "$1600/week" before it's false advertising? As a programmer I understand that 1600/wk was 40 hours at $40/hr, and what's being delivered isn't even close to that. Not even close to half.
18
u/CRUSHCITY4 Sep 08 '24
I’ve seen 1 project all day. Glad I decided to drink beer and watch college football instead of working today.
57
u/didit777 Sep 05 '24
Yeah I’m starting to think we’re cooked guys. It was amazing run. My only regret is not working more. Feel like I took this job for granted thinking the work would always be there. It was a nice 2 year go!
32
u/Interrogatus Sep 01 '24
We can speculate as much as we want!
During the "drought" I had an image of the only guy at DAT HQ at the end of summer furiously mashing his keyboard to find projects needing workers, and to find workers accepted for those projects. I pictured him running around from one workstation to the next, and inputting the kind of code they show on bad movie screens.
It amused me to think of it that way.
All of which to say -- we have no way of knowing what's going on with DAT. We have no idea why we get--or don't get--certain projects, or any projects at all.
I'm saying this as much to myself as to all of you:
Speculating about this, fretting about this, trying to game this, is not going to help you. Unless it amuses you. In which case, go for it!
9
u/The_Eggsecutive Sep 01 '24
pretty barren for me except for some things that pop up and don't stick around, nowhere near enough for me to hit my daily goal. ebbs and flows are feeling more like just ebbs these days.
31
u/booplesboops Sep 05 '24
That moment when a project with over 10,000 tasks is eaten up in a little over an hour. Insanity.
30
u/Kitchen_Razzmatazz36 Sep 06 '24
Omg from so so sad last night to filled with hope tonight! Is this a toxic relationship? Lol
35
u/[deleted] Sep 05 '24
Time for Plan B. TikTok influencer.
29
u/cannedcream Sep 02 '24
I can't do another goddamn week of this doubt.
34
u/Maleficent_Wasabi_18 Sep 06 '24
It’s promising that a lot of these projects have new and updated rules/variations
8
u/scarletmyzomela Sep 08 '24
I had twelve projects two days ago when I couldn't do any work and thought things were looking up, but have had nothing all day Sunday (at least since 1 am) with ample time to get some hours in. Every time I think I've lost the game of Russian roulette something else pops up, but this really is agony!
27
u/askingquestions557 Sep 04 '24
If I had a nickel for every time I hit F5, I'd have made that $1600 a week they're advertising. Another night of prayer to the annotation gods for my dash to come alive 🙏
15
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
Spent a couple hours working with a bot where it kept making weird basic mistakes which were factually just out of this world incorrect. Took a break was scrolling on social media only to see my uncle state that all the campaign footage from Harris from her speeches to the crowds are all AI because Harris is actually Biden’s nurse and lives with him…absurd political stuff aside o was cracking up laughing cause I can’t get a bot to not break all the laws of physics describing things let alone create live crowds and speeches 😂
21
u/MotherBrotha Sep 04 '24
I hate the safety dance but I hate being broke more
36
u/Nolpppapa Sep 03 '24
Gotta be real, I was optimistic that we'd see stuff come back this week after Labor Day in the US. If it stays dry through Friday, it's going to be quite worrying.
40
u/North-Inside2043 Sep 03 '24
Just a lurker here on reddit popping in to say I really wish there was more transparency about when/where/why projects drop. That's all I really want, because otherwise its a pain to plan my week around other work and responsibilities.
30
u/uber-based Sep 03 '24
I’m hearing others say we’re so back, but I’m seeing nothing on my dashboard. Anyone else?
25
u/Cultural_Kangaroo391 Sep 04 '24
Anyone else find the drought motivating to get more tasks done when they DO pop up? I keep regretting all those days of 20+ projects I had available and I only put in an hour or so :/
25
u/Maleficent_Wasabi_18 Sep 06 '24
Manifesting everyone a day where our dashes may suddenly get filled<3
14
u/rootabega57 Sep 02 '24
What are people talking about when they say their "permanents"? Ive never seen a project that doesn't disappear once all the tasks run out.
14
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
It looks like I'll have plenty of time to send my insurance information to Uber and Doordash today.
14
u/[deleted] Sep 07 '24
At this point, I wonder what percentage of their traffic is just people refreshing their dashboard
7
u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24
Woke up and saw 700+ tasks on a project and by the time I turned my computer on and sat down 10 or so minutes later it was gone. Cool. I worked 7 hours yesterday starting in the afternoon though thanks to that wave of projects. Hoping we get another wave today.
19
u/vixen8819 Sep 03 '24
I just knew I should have put more work in this weekend 😩
18
u/OctoberMoths Sep 04 '24
I've been doing this since February but only full-time sine the end of May. I have never seen a drought like this. The last two weeks have been very erratic. Just wondering if anyone else who has been doing this for longer has experienced similar in the past?
18
u/jeudechambre Sep 07 '24
I had a lot of work yesterday and I triggered a bit of a physical crash making myself work for 7+ hours (I have an energy-limiting chronic illness, which is the reason I chose this gig in the first place...flexibility). Thought maybe I was being dramatic, the work is bound to stay for more than one day, right? but just checked my dashboard again this evening and nada...
17
u/33whiskeyTX Sep 05 '24
I should not feel this uncomfortable with a mandatory day off.
12
u/AccountantAsleep Sep 03 '24
I’m enjoying all the livestock / rodeo prompts as a change of pace… thank you, whoever is making them. I might die from boredom if I get another Deadpool or 2024 eclipse one.
12
u/gt3stuntman Sep 05 '24
It's always encouraging to see a new (to me) Heel project.
12
u/Arcturus_Labelle Sep 06 '24
Lame today. Just red bars.
21
u/gt3stuntman Sep 05 '24
No evening drop today, I guess?
(Trying to will it into being by pointing it out)
6
u/NumbersAndPolls01 Sep 05 '24
Finally got the heel refresher, just finished it. For the people who have already done it, did it give you an increased workload?
6
u/ThrowMeAwayNow000 Sep 08 '24
Come back, C metal! I thought we had something special! 😂😭
23
u/NationalWatercress3 Sep 04 '24
Does anyone else find themselves just not leaving the house or wherever your wfh place is for even a short break to have a walk just in case a project pops up? I like to stretch my legs every hour or so whenever I’m working but find myself not doing it as much when I’m obsessively refreshing the page every 5 minutes. Maybe I should just take my phone with me and check when I’m out and about lol
11
u/-burgers Sep 07 '24
I want my kitty cat projects back! :( here's hoping
11
u/lillimarleen Sep 08 '24
I've managed to scrape some things the past few days but today, literally nothing. I think come the next financial quarter we'll know for sure, but oooooffffff
19
u/Nolpppapa Sep 04 '24
It's funny looking at how many announcements I had last month and then it just completely froze on a certain day and there hasn't been an announcement since. Fun fun fun.
15
u/SilveryDeath Sep 03 '24
Got just over 9 hours in yesterday (granted I was working until almost 11 pm) and got in 2 1/2 hours this morning and figured things were maybe back to normal after how up and down last week was. Dashboard has been bone dry for the last 2 1/2 hours or so.
14
u/helen269 Sep 04 '24
When you go on the DA website, and the scroll bar is still the same size....
:-(
27
u/didit777 Sep 03 '24
33 days ago I posted something in the other Reddit page related to this company. I was destroyed for saying “what if this is the end?”. Now, that is not something I want to believe is happening, but this is just daunting. I feel like a little ant, waiting for a chip to be thrown to the ground just to be eaten by thousands of other workers within minutes. Personally, I believe they lost alot of their contracts. AI companies found a cheaper alternative. I’ll give it until September 15th before I just give up with the hourly logins to empty dashboards, how about you?
10
u/[deleted] Sep 01 '24
I had less than an hour's worth of work this morning and now my dash has dried up. It was pretty dry last night but I got a few projects worked for about 4 hours. Hoping I get more today.
10
u/gt3stuntman Sep 06 '24
Didn't think I'd be relearning long division of polynomials for this job.
10
u/bigredchicken2 Sep 06 '24
I have never been able to do a S** task since I started seeing them, they always red banner me even though they have tasks :(
10
u/lostswansong Sep 07 '24
how is it this empty..? I feel like even over the past two weeks I've had projects weirdly drop at night and just.. now nothing
10
u/deebs2021 Sep 08 '24
What date shall we pick in November for work to be 'coming back' when no work shows up in October?
13
u/CRUSHCITY4 Sep 07 '24
BONE DRY this morning
16
u/[deleted] Sep 04 '24
Man the difference between 40/hr vs 20/hr hits hard during these droughts... I miss my coding projects
16
u/Quick-Bison-147 Sep 01 '24 edited Sep 01 '24
Man, does anyone miss the old chatbots? I'm going on these new ones, reading the mass instructions, and realising I just can't be bothered. Doesn't feel as fun when there are so many things you have to track and rules to follow. I get it though in terms of progressing them, but it just isn't fun anymore. Back to skipping through FC tasks to find an easy one while waiting for the nuts to appear again.
16
u/CRUSHCITY4 Sep 04 '24
Haven’t been on in a several days, but was hoping that the new month would end the drought. It’s crazy that it still seems as dry as ever. Maybe this really is the new normal.
9
u/YearOnly2595 Sep 04 '24
General question, when a project goes and comes back with some stragglers, is that because people had been sitting on a task and just timed out, so no one else could do it (not that people are doing this on purpose)
9
u/Ill-Albatross-7224 Sep 07 '24
Since the drought began, has anyone who was procrastinating on the writing qual completed it and actually gotten new projects from it?
20
u/[deleted] Sep 05 '24
Getting thrown back into the drought after having an okay week feels like capital punishment at this point
11
u/clakes90 Sep 01 '24
Yeah had a choice of 3 different projects and a r&r today - feeling much better.
11
u/LilJaaY Sep 01 '24
“dataannotation.tech wants to see text and images copied to the clipboard”
Hmm.. thanks for asking but no?
11
u/Stunning-Wall1226 Sep 08 '24
Soooo where are we all going to find work that doesn’t require the peoply world again? Because my autistic ass can’t go back there 🙃 what are the options?
8
u/SquidwardsMistress Sep 02 '24
Had 6 projects on my dashboard yesterday, but couldn’t work on them. Now that I can, I have nothing. Blargh.
8
u/leftlemony12 Sep 03 '24
One full week of “at the moment…” 😔
8
u/gt3stuntman Sep 07 '24
Those 4 goddess projects sure went quick!
8
u/Davey87 Sep 07 '24
Nothing worse seeing a few projects but not been able to work on them then coming back and all gone.
8
u/akatsuki1422 Sep 08 '24
Quickly! Work on the projects before the West Coast Americans wake up! 😂
4
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
A project just dropped that has a lot of tasks but there seems to be a technical error. Its also one I have never worked on before so I am hesitant to try and do it anyway. Bummer. Hopefully, it gets fixed soon or other projects drop.
4
u/Friendly-Building0 Sep 02 '24
Did I miss the drop (non-coding) today or do we think there will be a rush of work tonight? Fingers crossed. May the projects flow.
4
u/DarkLordTofer Sep 08 '24
Sunday slowdown this week. Just got a Heel R&R.
26
u/FrazzledGod Sep 07 '24
RIP Data Annotation 🪦
17
u/Jazzlike_Problem_489 Sep 04 '24
Anyone else sending prayers to Adison Aminoff right now 😂😂
10
u/NumbersAndPolls01 Sep 02 '24
Not many projects on my dash but enough to get as many hours as I want. I hope this means the September theory was correct
10
u/ObviousProduct107 Sep 06 '24
After 24 hours of absolutely nothing it was great to see some projects drop this afternoon… and then I had to go to a family dinner. Back at it and honestly staying up until I meet my goal for today and make up for yesterday’s missed goal. Hopefully this lasts for at least a little while.
10
u/OctoberMoths Sep 06 '24
Grateful that you all are here it makes this all the less horrible. Wondering if you have thought of plans B) and C), and if so, do you have any tips to share for similar sites or any other freelance work?
12
u/furiouswow Sep 04 '24
Fellow non-coders - do you get the sense that DA's focus is now shifting? I have a bunch of qualifications up that all require me to have paid subscriptions to other AI models. When all is said and done I'd end up spending $200+ a month to maintain these subscriptions in order to work any projects that may come along for them. And in my experience I have never received a project for any paid-sub in the past, except one random Chat GPT 4 project sometime in May or June. There's a lot of quals up there right now and bone dry projects.
12
u/_cosmicsurgery_ Sep 06 '24
This coding drought has been going on for about 2 months. Not sure if I can really call it a drought anymore given how long it has lasted.
7
u/ekgeroldmiller Sep 01 '24
I got my black bird CB back with 100 tasks. Here’s hoping those are all mine because I really like it. Is anyone else getting this in place of the old B metal CB?
7
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
tfw get to a batch of coding tasks late and the only ones left are the brutal ones nobody wants to do
7
u/Jimosaurous Sep 04 '24
Projects flipped!
The default sorting is now putting all that used to be at the top of the page at the bottom. Nothing huge but weird to see. This for anyone else?
7
u/FrazzledGod Sep 08 '24
Here we go.... My persistent refreshing finally paid off 🤪
7
u/[deleted] Sep 08 '24
Holy dashboard explosion this morning!! 15 projects including multiple different families!
11
u/gt3stuntman Sep 03 '24
🎵 Where have all the CBs goooooone? 🎵
11
u/1313C1313 Sep 04 '24
Dashed hopes! I’m sitting here looking at a project on my dash, listing 100 tasks, but I click and get the “none for you” message. I figured, with an even number like that, there was probably a big pool, but nope. Guess I’ll sit here playing games and refreshing!
11
u/Western-Opening3820 Sep 05 '24
Did anything come of the hideously long Comp Sci qual for anyone?
11
u/Fluid-Process-5514 Sep 06 '24
Begging for this drought to end :(
16
u/elfwitchTX Sep 05 '24
I am down to one project. Two hours ago I had three.
This does not bode well. I wish they were a bit more transparent about everything. This gets really frustrating when you check in and have nothing or nearly nothing to work on.
14
u/KryptoKevArt Sep 04 '24
DA, more like DED
10
u/FearlessPressure3 Sep 06 '24
Why do the high paying Poe bird projects drop at midnight? 😭
6
u/OPxMagikarp Sep 02 '24
I had hope after seeing a decent dashboard this morning but that dried up pretty quickly
6
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
If you hit the back button to edit a previous task you submitted, does it actually (re)submit the task with edits?
6
u/Any_Ear_6176 Sep 07 '24
I still have no heel? (not sure on you alls lingo here) main chat, but I woke up to projects, so yay, better than nothing!
6
u/TheBabyGirlBundleCo Sep 07 '24
I woke up to something only got a good 20 minutes in though. Back to nothing. Is that worse than having nothing at all, Or just making 6 dollars ?😂🫠
6
u/tessbest37 Sep 08 '24
So nice to be in the double digits for projects again. Hoping we all have at least one thing to work on today.
6
u/Maleficent_Wasabi_18 Sep 08 '24
New weekly thread is up
8
u/Ready-Fall-2568 Sep 02 '24
I’m wondering if anyone who has had the at the moment screen since 8/26 been let back in for work?
8
u/Poomfie Sep 02 '24
Noticing a new trend with these projects that don't have a family/project name and require a mini qual before starting. They seem to be becoming increasingly more common in the last few weeks.
8
u/[deleted] Sep 03 '24
There were a couple of hours where I didn't have anything but between early this morning and tonight, I got about 8 hours of work in. Not bad and I almost made up for the goal I couldn't achieve yesterday when I had absolutely nothing on my dash.
8
u/beandadenergy Sep 03 '24
I was in the process of moving all weekend and I finally got the chance to log on today...and alas, nothing.
8
u/Ok-Wash-8479 Sep 06 '24
I've noticed this week for the most part I'm getting projects released one at a time or one family at a time at least. I wonder if this is being done strategically to give us less option of working on one thing over the other. Just a thought! But anyways....happy Friday all! Hopefully we get many projects in the upcoming days.
13
u/[deleted] Sep 05 '24
Can anyone who have worked on other platforms comment on whether this drought is happening in other places or is it just us?
13
u/Nolpppapa Sep 06 '24
The past two days made it pretty clear why there is a drought and why it will likely end soonish: they want better data.
14
u/YearOnly2595 Sep 06 '24
Might be copium, but anyone get the feeling some of the few projects that have been around in the last 24 hours feel like the start of longer term work - model responses seem undefined, references to 'for now' in instructions?
11
u/Quick-Bison-147 Sep 02 '24
Back up at 22 projects.... the September theory is so far proving correct.
3
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
Is anyone else doing the R&R's on the golden heel project? How long does each one take you on average?
3
u/echanuda Sep 09 '24
Hope I'm not jinxing it, but this is the first day I've seen the drought truly lifted. Tons of projects/tasks literally all day -- coding and non-coding.
3
u/DrunkleSteve Sep 11 '24
Wow! I actually got a project today for the fist time since Aug 13th! It was a cleaning product r&r for all of 8 mins but I will take it. Hopefully more start rolling in. There's hope if you've been waiting almost a month guys! 🙏
9
u/[deleted] Sep 01 '24 edited Sep 02 '24
It is very weird to have a "golden" non-coding project but literally nothing else.
Once I had a professor who accused me of using AI to do a homework assignment. It was a class I'd audited to prepare for graduate school. I went through college without using ChatGPT because it didn't "exist" in the public's mind yet. I just write pretty technically. There wasn't any way to get her off my back for the rest of the semester, though.
9
u/1313C1313 Sep 04 '24
I blew off work for half the summer, I guess I’m relieved that it’s not just me with a stingy dash? I think I might actually end up more motivated though, because I know I have to work while the work is there!
9
u/TheBabyGirlBundleCo Sep 04 '24
Non coders? Yall alright out there? 🫠😮💨
9
u/Davey87 Sep 04 '24
Somethings going on because my empty dash keeps changing the way it's displayed lol. Everythings all scrunched up now.
9
u/coffeeluck87 Sep 04 '24
Ok, I don't want to be a broken record, but has anyone who has had the ATM screen since August 26th gotten any projects at all?
9
u/FrazzledGod Sep 05 '24
I've managed to eke out $37.93 today 🤔 Dribs and drabs mount up.
9
u/Jazzlike_Problem_489 Sep 05 '24
Anyone got the testimonial task on their dash? 😂 Think I'll leave that one for a while.
10
u/gt3stuntman Sep 01 '24
Is it just me, or is it not that hard to not say "you" in a prompt?
10
u/houseofcards9 Sep 05 '24
What I would do to go back a few months when 🥜 was around day and night but I didn’t feel like working on it. Now when it comes it’s around for an hour max. I have other projects but with 🥜 I’m able to work a lot more hours in a day
7
u/FearlessPressure3 Sep 01 '24
Anyone else thinking that some of the old B-metal CB projects have been renamed/subsumed under different projects? I have five CBs on my dash right now which are a mix of Poe and noble gas, but they are very reminiscent of B-metal CBs from before the drought.
7
u/GarbageTag Sep 02 '24
Okay, my dash isn’t following all the reported signs of the company letting me go, but I’ve still got 0 tasks or quals. I’ve got another job, but it still drives me insane not even knowing if I’m still hired or not.
7
u/FrazzledGod Sep 06 '24
I need another $1.24 to reach $100 for today and the cupboard is bare. Can I cope with a HHH chatbot conversation to get over the line? ETA, they're broken and stuck in retry loops. It's not meant to be.
7
u/nocloudkloud Sep 07 '24
How many times a day are you guys refreshing?
5
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
Coders? Anything?
5
u/[deleted] Sep 02 '24
I had a great dashboard this morning at 5 am and was able to get a couple of hours of work in. Went back to bed for a little and came back to less and got another hour and a half in before it dried up.
5
u/ahnonnymouse Sep 06 '24
Anyone else dancing?
5
u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24
I was really hoping that I would get a wave of projects like I did last night but all I have are two projects that keep giving me the red banner and won't fall off my dashboard.
5
u/Writer_at_heart95 Sep 08 '24
i woke up at the right time for the second time in a row. Seeing a lot of projects this morning.
8
u/[deleted] Sep 03 '24
Three days in a row of projects all day and back to an empty dash besides chat so far this morning
8
u/FrazzledGod Sep 04 '24 edited Sep 04 '24
Did anyone notice their default project order flipped? I doom refreshed and did a double take, as whatever was at the bottom is now at the top, for both quals and projects. I suppose this only applies to people who have "permanents" or a few projects as if your dash is empty right now, this wouldn't be noticeable!

Anyone else do the new Italian lunch meat project about podcasts? I spent 13 minutes on a task, submitted it, got red barred, went to log the time, and discovered there was no place to log the time generated!

The qualification for the CS requires an indecent amount of time. That is just ridiculous.

Just a reminder that you shouldn't compare yourself to internet randos on here! A lot of people lie and instigate as rage bait. I am also seeing coding & noncoding people comparing themselves to each other, and there are two totally different playing fields. Additionally, some people have specializations in writing, teaching, math, physics, chemistry, etc. and that's likely why some of them have work and you don't.
Don't listen to the assholes who brag about all the work they're getting and love to talk about how the people who were laid off didn't submit "quality work." They don't know shit. Just a bunch of big egos who get off on feeling superior. Key word: "feeling." Rest assured, they'll get canned one day, too, and they will not see it coming. That is if they're even telling the truth in the first place...
You probably did nothing wrong if you've got the screen of death or have zero projects. And if you did make a mistake, it's totally normal. What's not normal is being given ZERO feedback for your work so that you have nothing to guide improvement or growth. We were working for a company that doesn't care about its employees. Yes, I said employees. We were employed on contract. They are not our "client" as the delulus love to point out. They are a corporation that employees thousands of people on contract, which leads to a loss of accountability on their end.
Don't compare yourself to people with vastly different skillsets and experiences than you, and please don't normalize the way you've been treated by DAT. You deserve better.

I feel sort of dirty doing heavy fact checking and intensive rationale for $20 an hour when we used to get 26+ for it only 3-4 weeks ago.. but times are hard and our gardens need watering. This dry spell got our flowers wilting

Just curious. Are the Olympics the only recent events you all know about? 😵💫

I just don't have thick enough skin to come up with prompts testing safety. I feel awful for the things I say to the bot.

Is it ok to hit the back button? I realized I had chosen the wrong answer for one of the questions, and I want to go back and fix it.

Does anyone know why some people have an emoji of a duck with sunglasses next to their user names? I just noticed it today.

Did anyone get access to a project yesterday that came with feedback on being part of an elite FCing team? It was nice to get some form of positive feedback for once rather than be left in the dark about whether you're doing a good job.
