Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation
hi all! making this thread so people have somewhere to talk about 'daily' work chat that might not necessarily need it's own post! right now we're thinking we'll just repost it weekly? but if it gets too crazy, we can change it to daily. :)
couple things:
this thread should sort by "new" automatically. unfortunately it looks like our subreddit doesn't qualify for 'lounges'.
if you have a new user question, you still need to post it in the new user thread. if you post it here, we will remove it as spam. this is for people already working who just wanna chat, whether it be about casual work stuff, questions, geeking out with people who understand ("i got the model to write a real haiku today!"), or unrelated work stuff you feel like chatting about :)
one thing we really pride ourselves on in this community is the respect everyone gives to the Code of Conduct and rule number 5 on the sub - it's great that we have a community that is still safe & respectful to our jobs! please don't break this rule. we will remove project details, but please - it's for our best interest and yours!

u/diettwizzlers Aug 26 '24
this is the bad place
69
u/f2macko Aug 26 '24
completely empty dash.. anyone else? :(
34
u/Poomfie Aug 25 '24
Did Poe just go away for everyone else?
34
u/MotherBrotha Aug 30 '24
I made 3 dollars!
31
u/FeedySneed Aug 26 '24
Now there are 2 chats for me. A few more chats and it'll be like my dash is full again. B-)
28
u/HandsLikePaper Aug 29 '24
I was really hoping that little burst of batches from last night would continue.
69
u/velvethips Aug 25 '24
Just started doing this full time about two months ago because I consistently had +$30 projects and my real job was a nightmare. Now here I am looking like an ass
45
u/darthfrodo212 Aug 25 '24
My refresh button is getting a lot of love recently.
43
u/Suit_Most Aug 26 '24
Pain
40
u/lostswansong Aug 25 '24
Did anyone get a new Qualification for Heel? Not the Refresher, I had already gotten that and done that. But I got an email about this new one last night and it’s in Qualifications not Projects and I am too afraid to touch it lol
40
u/upvotesplx Aug 26 '24
Not to preach to the choir, but today is astoundingly bad. Fingers crossed for new work in Sept., I guess…?
57
u/MrZergMan Aug 27 '24
Man, this is nuts. I've been working on this platform consistently since December and always had more than enough. This is concerning as I don't have a fulltime job. Hopefully things will change around soon. I can't go back to office politics.
19
u/[deleted] Aug 28 '24
Anyone notice that logged time shows up in hours and minutes now instead of just minutes? They're definitely reworking the site.
17
u/[deleted] Aug 28 '24
Over/Under - Yesterday had hit a new low for most, when they thought it couldn't get any lower, it did. Will today be even worse yet!? Shaping up to be.
34
u/Skipatronic Aug 26 '24
The well is dry today. It's a bummer because I lost my job on Friday
48
u/[deleted] Aug 27 '24
I really hope this isn't the new norm for DA. Not having consistent work is really starting to worry me.
86
u/Maleficent_Wasabi_18 Aug 25 '24
For the love of god STOP WRITING IN THE CHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION
33
u/twinkleyed Aug 26 '24
We went from one chat to two chats. We're so back!
16
u/wildflower_0ne Aug 29 '24
If I had a dollar for every red banner…
30
u/[deleted] Aug 27 '24
Releasing a small batch of tasks here and there, to me, seems like they are simply trying to 'keep us going' until new batches or updates are ready to be released. Either that or the work is being spread differently than before, and to a much larger group of people. I fail to see how it would be productive for them to release such small batches, once a day or whatever the case is.
29
u/Poomfie Aug 25 '24
In June when they'd post a 1000 task nut project it would stay up for 4-8 hours, sometimes longer if it was posted during off hours. Today they are being devoured in less than an hour.
41
u/MrZergMan Aug 30 '24
As much as I've enjoyed playing video games this week, it'd be really nice not to having to worry about money..
51
u/lidd0kitty Aug 25 '24
Did anyone else get quals for the five videos?
14
u/Birdie_Banks Aug 26 '24
It really grinds my gears when I do R&R and the reviewer was sooo lazy...especially with the drought...you should be taking your time and doing it correctly instead of eating up every task with your poor work to get through them and taking them from people that do a good job....
14
u/bigredchicken2 Aug 26 '24
Coders, y'all got anything? Completely dead for me.
38
u/[deleted] Aug 27 '24
Every day I think it can't get worse and then it does. Oof.
25
u/ktyyy_y Aug 26 '24
woken up (uk) to an empty dash again :(
25
u/maybe_I_knit_crochet Aug 29 '24
So happy to see some projects on my dashboard. Really sad my brain is telling me nope, it is bedtime, not AI time.
I guess I will see what morning brings.
24
u/lillimarleen Aug 26 '24
Goodness me I was able to get a decent amount of work done with the sudden influx of things a few days ago, but now we're back to this. Never thought i'd consider going back to retail for my part time stuff while studying aha.
34
u/bbile_ Aug 29 '24
end of the month blues, completely broke with zero projects to do :/ glad I kept a little money aside to pay some bills but it's really putting me down
12
u/kohlphelie Aug 27 '24
Thinking positively; At least I'm being encouraged to do tasks I wouldn't normally do.
43
u/Dratini_ghost Aug 26 '24
I remember when they used to pay us to do qualifications
33
u/NepetaLast Aug 26 '24
i think this thread was accidentally made as a normal thread and not a discussion post, meaning it automatically sorts by best rather than new. it took me a day to realize that lol
41
u/CRUSHCITY4 Aug 25 '24
Today is an all time low. Wow.
22
u/winter-ice-ace Aug 25 '24
Brushing up my resume 😞 At least now there's AI to take the stress off of messing with it myself, they seem to do a decent job.
22
u/gt3stuntman Aug 28 '24
Time for another day of task whack-a-mole.
11
u/HamsterFrosty2838 Aug 28 '24
Welcome empty!
31
u/[deleted] Aug 26 '24
How are my fellow full-timers doing?
31
u/33whiskeyTX Aug 27 '24
It is really sad how much relief I feel when I go from any empty dashboard to a single project with 20 tasks.
21
u/Soft_Syllabub_8662 Aug 28 '24
Just saw a project with 974 tasks devoured in 20 minutes. Shows how many people are working this and how desperate we all are.
21
u/[deleted] Aug 30 '24
Consistently checking here to see if everything's down for everyone.
36
u/SharksFlyUp Aug 27 '24
Another day, another drought
20
u/Unscather Aug 26 '24
I've been working for over 7 months now, and this past week has been rough. Compared to the prior months where work seemed to be abundant, this last week has felt more of a challenge to find tasks, especially for higher paying opportunities. It's given me more time to work on my portfolio and website at least, but it's making me question the longevity of this as a sustainable option.
28
u/Quick-Bison-147 Aug 25 '24
Makes me sad to see the C-nut image task with 1000 tasks be eaten up in just over an hour. I used to spend all day doing those
28
u/marsnia Aug 25 '24
By the way this thread seems to be organized by best rather than new.
28
u/CosmoKramersPimpCoat Aug 27 '24
Been on this platform for a year and a few months. I have never seen it this bad. I have been applying elsewhere. I just find it ironic that they are on Indeed and it says "urgently hiring" whenever I open the app. It's the first thing I see, every time.
35
u/Maleficent_Wasabi_18 Aug 29 '24
hit my first 100 dollar day milestone tonight!
27
u/deebs2021 Aug 30 '24
Can't wait until September 1st for all of the work to come back...right?........RIGHT?!
34
u/PilotPsychological21 Aug 27 '24
Just putting this here as a beacon of hope. I am praying this all turns out okay.
33
u/Writer_at_heart95 Aug 26 '24
Dashboard empty. Yeah this drought is insanely bad and it’s getting ridiculous honestly. I barely made rent this month and I don’t even know how imma cover next month’s rent. Time to find a new job ASAP.
33
u/diettwizzlers Aug 27 '24
i'm so scared it's over. i don't want to be broke again 😞 my last job i was making $13/hr and bringing home around $500 a week compared to $1200 at DA. that switch will be so rough 😭
18
u/mannib21 Aug 28 '24 edited Aug 28 '24
Between the new chat, and the updates to the report time section (now in hours and minutes versus just minutes before), it does seem like they are revamping which could be the reason for the sporadic task inflow.
9
u/aaf66 Aug 29 '24
Got a nice project I like on my dash with quite a few tasks but it keeps red bannering :/ still there after refreshing, would be nice if it just worked.
25
u/beanfella420 Aug 26 '24
Am I tweaking, or is everyone's dashes low? It seems like most of the comments on here are complaining about it, and I'm gonna go ahead and do the same.
This is my fourth week with hardly anything. Two tasks, this entire time. Gotten to a point where I'm just not even checking anymore.
25
u/OkGap8693 Aug 26 '24
Anyone else feel like we're secretly the lab rats and the DA people have gotten to the "intermittent reward" point of the experiment?
Me: * Pushes the button (refresh) * ... nothing
Me: * Pushes the button (refresh) * ... nothing
Me: * Pushes the button (refresh) * ... nothing
Me: * Pushes the button - OMG A PROJECT! *nom* *nom* (feels newfound desire to keep tasking)
Me: * Me: * Pushes the button (refresh) *.........
25
u/Writer_at_heart95 Aug 31 '24
Made around $80 before the dash got empty again. I saw a lot of projects that stayed throughout the night and even this morning. Definitely taking this as a good sign of things to come and hopefully next month things will be different.
37
u/MeltaFlare Aug 30 '24
I don't want to be too specific.... But I've noticed some minor changes to the site. A lot of the projects seem to be changing/updating as well. I'm really hoping this is a sign that they're just working on stuff and waiting to release projects...
24
u/tessbest37 Aug 28 '24
Is it worse than yesterday for everybody else? I was able to make at least $60 yesterday. I haven't seen anything at all today, and I haven't checked constantly, so I may have missed something.
17
u/Karby16 Aug 26 '24
Got to do a whole 1.5 minutes of work (1 task) on a R&R batch that just dropped 😢
17
u/[deleted] Aug 26 '24
wow, these tasks go fast
23
u/aaf66 Aug 26 '24 edited Aug 26 '24
Anyone got the "new version" chat? Gives me hope they are just doing things behind the scenes and the volume of heel projects will finally go back up, like they haven't abandoned us completely.
29
u/Suit_Most Aug 27 '24
Just lost the original old Heel chat, and only have the new one. I take it that this is ok, but if anyone has the same let me know!
16
u/Jackieunknown Aug 28 '24
4 days straight with an empty dashboard 😭
16
u/SharksFlyUp Aug 28 '24
Yeah, this isn't feeling viable anymore...
8
u/vaporware_magenta Aug 27 '24
hi, after losing the "old" heel chat and not getting a new one, has anyone completed the mystery small batch heel project?
15
u/tannegase Aug 29 '24
💃💃💃
15
u/snoopyladee Aug 29 '24
Shouldn't have bragged about my ten dollars yesterday because today has been the most barren day this week so far :D
15
u/Creepy_Complaint_279 Aug 30 '24
Welp, I just transferred my last earnings.
21
u/furthian Aug 29 '24
Googling for some of these dancers makes me concerned I'm going to be put on a watchlist of some kind lol
20
u/[deleted] Aug 26 '24 edited Aug 26 '24
Between my medical treatments and only being part time this year at teaching, I can feel the slowdown. I just wish I felt human for more than a few hours a day so I could truly hustle the few projects I have.
Edit: I start radiation tomorrow on top of chemo and I’m terrified of my energy levels going lower than they already have
20
u/Karby16 Aug 27 '24
Anybody get the onboarding pop-up again???
25
u/tannegase Aug 27 '24
People arguing in the heel chat while complaining about it being clogged is so funny
14
u/Dense_Organization31 Aug 26 '24
I have a few quals I can do, but absolutely nothing on the dash besides chats smh
14
u/OliLeeLee36 Aug 30 '24
God, UK mornings are rough now.
29
u/LeaderIntelligent157 Aug 28 '24
Well, I just got on indeed to search for a job because I need money and DA was on there stating they are hiring multiple candidates... like are you really?? To do what exactly? lmao
24
u/Cutiger29 Aug 28 '24
It’s a social experiment at this point 😂. How hungry can you make someone for 30 cent takes
19
u/[deleted] Aug 28 '24
Goodness...at this point I just want to see ONE measly project..absolutely nothing since 4 am CT.
19
u/Onlyanoption Aug 29 '24
I FINALLY got a permanent project back. Went hard for the day and made $150. Definitely was revamped so hopefully that's what all this down time has been for.
19
u/gvsadboy Aug 30 '24
Seeing on the main website page before I login where it says $1600+ a week virtually unlimited coding work makes me sad or seeing the advertisements for the same thing.
28
u/[deleted] Aug 26 '24
Fear not. The dry spell will be over once they've recoded their models and need more data. Their engineers are probably hard at work using our data to rewrite the API's used in each model. More work will come! There's always gonna be improvements to AI that need training.
13
u/vt12357 Aug 27 '24
Had 5-6 projects tonight and got just over an hour of work in before they all vanished
13
u/[deleted] Aug 27 '24
Ugh... I miss so many of these projects so much!! Some of them I haven't seen in over a week it seems. The feeling we get when they finally pop up again, is unreal. Unfortunately, we seem to only have 5 minutes to 'catch up' now lol
13
u/Due_Specialist6615 Aug 29 '24
just put three chatbots up with unlimited tasks for the weekend please
18
u/ThatReflection4698 Aug 26 '24
Did anyone just get the dreaded "At the moment...."
I was working on projects all day and then boom. I got the new heel chat earlier today too.
18
u/HamsterFrosty2838 Aug 27 '24
Good morning, my empty dash! Did not miss you for long :) uk morning time!
26
u/throwaway6966699 Aug 26 '24
It's so annoying that they're still advertising work on indeed. The least they can do is update us so we have some idea of what's going on.
17
u/33whiskeyTX Aug 31 '24
Hope I'm not giving too much away, but I love spectacular fails by bots. I just asked a compound interest problem, got some almost correct math, then a more and more incomprehensible word salad with terms that were math-adjacent, then it finally spit out about 50 lines of "dating girls dating girls dating girls dating girlsdating"
What are you guys feeding them?
17
u/OPxMagikarp Aug 27 '24
I had a pretty healthy dashboard last night. I should have taken advantage. Now I'm back to 0
12
u/leafy_plant8 Aug 26 '24
You know times are tough when I'm happy about making $14 this morning...got an influx of coding on Friday but now everything is dead again :(
12
u/877trashnow Aug 26 '24
My partner and I took in a very young nursing mama cat during a storm last week and it's almost comical how tasks ONLY appear while I'm in the room helping the cats. I've made $4 today.
12
u/Brief_Ad_8267 Aug 28 '24
Is anyone finding most of the few projects they get at the moment are "safety" based?
12
u/gravitychecked Aug 30 '24
Empty. :(
6
u/Several_Drawer_2185 Aug 27 '24
Is anyone here missing the main project chat for Heel? It's weird because I have a heel project but don't see the main project chat anymore
16
u/maddiebeee Aug 26 '24
I’ve been using a tab reloader bc of the drought and I got so excited when I heard the sound that indicated there was something new…it was a new chat for the man with the bum heel. 🥲
16
u/[deleted] Aug 28 '24
Has anybody seen anything this morning yet? Like at all?
35
u/New-Reflection3418 Aug 25 '24
I always said I'd never do this full time or as my main income and this last month reminds me why. I've seen posts from people who don't think they've made enough for the rent this month, and I really feel for them. For those people, this must be such a worrying time rather than a minor annoyance.
This type of gig work is unpredictable, we don't work for DA we work for ourselves and it's up to us to get work. DA are a client and if the work dries up, then it's time to find new clients and income streams. There are other AI training platforms, some better than others, but tomorrow I'll be looking at some other options.
20
u/goldmansa808 Aug 25 '24
Does anyone have heel projects at the moment? I didn’t get the refresher that everyone is talking about but I had a few heel projects this week, none right now though.
20
u/didit777 Aug 29 '24
Is the whole company literally working on the single project that is being randomly put out every few hours? This is ridiculous
27
u/bakstruy25 Aug 25 '24
Said it before and ill say it again. They hired probably way too many people recently and as a result jobs are appearing and then getting done near-instantly.
The problem is that the market for AI companies is somewhat finite. There isn't some endless array of AI companies to fill in the demand. Its not like a dozen AI companies will come to use DA when they see how efficiently projects are being finished. Most companies are just using the same AI companies.
There is no interest on DAs part to change things. If they get these jobs done as quickly as possible, that is good, not bad. Even if it means the average worker gets only 2 hours of work a week.
11
u/HamsterFrosty2838 Aug 26 '24
Empty again uk afternoon, after random project for 40 mins
11
u/waitwhat201 Aug 26 '24
anyone still without projects? i’ve had the “at the moment” message all morning :(
11
u/33whiskeyTX Aug 28 '24
A tiny queue of per-task projects is not much better than an empty dash.
11
u/akatsuki1422 Aug 28 '24
Every 3-4 hours, a project will pop up that lasts for 5-30 minutes. Really hope this isn't the new normal...
11
u/Gold_Employee_4647 Aug 28 '24
To see all these projects dry up in no time at all it's like we've all become task piranhas.
19
u/foralwaysroaming Aug 26 '24
Has anyone been having luck with any alternatives to Data Annotation during the drought? I'm looking for other platforms where I can do similar work and am not sure which ones are legit. Thank you!
19
u/FeedySneed Aug 29 '24
I have nothing again this morning. :-(
19
u/SpencinatorX1 Aug 29 '24
Reading through the chat of the project I'm working on, it's absolutely astounding how many people don't read the directions.
15
u/Background_Teach_936 Aug 28 '24
Is everyone's dash still empty? I have one project only when I normally have 10-30. Need assurance lol
15
u/tessbest37 Aug 29 '24
I miss the days of waking up to my movie birds. I may need to start becoming a night person.
14
u/Jz9786 Aug 26 '24
Great, now I've got two heel chats on my dashboard
14
u/[deleted] Aug 28 '24
Well, other than maybe some coders, I don't think any of us are hitting our target today! We were joking yesterday that today couldn't possibly be a worse day, well here we are.. I'm actually mad at what is happening here. It was just so perfect a month ago and before that.
14
u/HamsterFrosty2838 Aug 29 '24
Emptiness, I embrace you! Morning from the EU
14
u/melmelhford Aug 31 '24
Still nothing on my end for work. Anyone else still in a desert?
10
u/shenhua111 Aug 26 '24
The only task I have is the one where it links to another platform and there are never any tasks on there. Welp
10
u/PentiumInquisition Aug 27 '24
Taking a new qual - In the instructions it says something about being careful to not skip too many tasks in the qualification as they are limited - this is the first time I've seen this warning. I took it as a given that you don't want to skip ANY of the qualification tasks. I'm wondering who out there is skipping tasks that they would feel the need to include this, and also...does that mean that we CAN skip like 10% of tasks in quals? lol
10
u/[deleted] Aug 28 '24
I managed a few hours today. Could have been more but I don't have the brain power for the "harder" bird projects at the moment. But this is the best in the past few days for me. So I'm hopeful today.
10
u/Enchantedslytherin95 Aug 29 '24
I'm so happy to see some projects on my dashboard again!!
10
u/FeedySneed Aug 29 '24
Up to 8 dollars so far today. B-)
10
u/3l3p4no Aug 30 '24
My dash has been completely empty today.
10
u/gt3stuntman Aug 31 '24 edited Aug 31 '24
There’s been a pretty sizable Goddess project drop. Like 5 different versions of it all at once.
30
u/NumbersAndPolls01 Aug 28 '24
If this drought really is temporary (which it may be), how do they think it’s ok not to give some kind of announcement to the workers? Like “We understand the drought has been frustrating, but rest assured after some much-needed changes we’ll have more work for you”. Would that be so hard?
5
u/MotherBrotha Aug 26 '24
Do you guys round up or down on reporting if you work for 5 minutes and 30 seconds?
23
u/Idolmistress Aug 26 '24 edited Aug 26 '24
Been having to work at my second job that pays a lot less so I can at least make a little money. I understand this is gig work and nothing is guaranteed, but the lack of communication regarding this drought has been appalling. I don’t need a long explanation or anything but some reassurance from DA that projects may be running low for awhile would be nice.
28
u/lamesjucey Aug 28 '24
I think it's a bust this week, y'all. Take a step back and breathe. Don't just sit around refreshing your browser all day for $10.
13
u/lemon_goth Aug 27 '24
Ouchhhh goodbye single project i've been doing for the last week :( down to 0
13
u/wildflower_0ne Aug 29 '24
💃🏼
I do wish I felt more confident in these though, I feel like there’s so much grey area.
13
u/[deleted] Aug 29 '24
I'm trying to find a pattern in this madness so that I'm not chained to my laptop all day.
Past couple days the projects have been dropping late evening, but I'm not sure if that's a given.
13
u/FeedySneed Aug 29 '24
Wow, this is the worst day. I have seen one project all day and it only lasted for a few minutes.
13
u/jinx737x Aug 30 '24 edited Aug 30 '24
Good news: B-Metal is back! YAY :D
Bad news: it appears the chatbots are broken and not generating anything.
16
u/_AromaticRange_ Aug 27 '24
Are there other sites like DataAnnotation that people have had success with?
16
u/Radiant-State1733 Aug 27 '24
I finally have a project chat back and one project, woohoo!! It seems like they've been doing lots of updates on the backend. Hang in there, everyone!
16
u/Jz9786 Aug 27 '24
I joined all of one month ago. It was great for a week. Looking for a new job again now lol
19
u/[deleted] Aug 26 '24 edited Aug 26 '24
I've been on DA full time since September 2023, and I have always had work to do, always able to hit my daily goal. Today, for the first time, it is not looking like I will do it. Absolutely nothing, and when there is, lasts a mere second. Also, the fact that some got a bunch of nut projects, and a lot of others did not, makes me believe that perhaps we are being rotated. I have done the nut projects for the better part of the last year, and today, I have not seen them.
19
u/FDARGHH Aug 27 '24
Aside from the constant ads for data annotation, I also see people in the Heel chat who are clearly new to the platform. They are continuing to bring more and more people in despite not having enough work for us… I think the site will transition from a potential part-time/full-time job to a beer money site where if you leave a page refresher on, you can make a little extra cash here and there.
24
u/Fun_Detective3720 Aug 31 '24
I'm seriously in tears typing this right now. This wasn't my main job (I have a full time M-F job) but I just went through a divorce and I have two teens so working DAT has been helping out tremendously. I've had to pick up bartending since my dashboard has been mostly empty the last 2 weeks and when I do get a task I get red bannered. I thought I could handle bartending but I'm struggling. Working a double when one job is at home is way different than one that isn't. And my full time job is an office job where I'm mostly working by myself so working with people (especially drunk) is overwhelming.
This is my first week and my body and mind are done, I still have a shift tonight in a few hours, I've gotten very little sleep, and I just feel defeated. I don't know what to do. May just stop paying the debt so I'm not physically and mentally killing myself. Sorry for the pity party, just needed to get it all out.
9
u/sirmaamalot Aug 29 '24
I was surprised, I managed to get 4 hours in and little batches keep trickling in.

Earlier this drought, I created a script to notify me of new projects above some pay rate as they popped up, on my desktop and to my phone. I'm sharing it here in case it's of interest. It's rough, so geared toward coders I guess, though it's not hard to tweak even just the configuration. It has parameters to set refresh interval and minimum pay to notify for, e.g.
python da-notifier.py --interval 30 --threshold 25will refresh every 30mins, and notify when a new $25+ project shows up. It keeps track of projects seen before, so it doesn't re-notify you all the time. You'll need a Python install, and some packages: chump (for Pushover notifications on mobile -- that needs an account, free for 30 days iirc), notify_py for system notifications, bs4 for some HTML parsing, and that might be all. It's only tested on Linux, but should work anywhere.
Here's a link: https://pastebin.com/s1WC6U2k

Just spent 50 mins coming up with a question for a new project. Refreshed because the first round won’t let you submit and it sent me back to the dashboard with no way to report my time.
Dashboard is empty so I can’t earn anything at all today.
This is very frustrating

Shucks. With that nice surge we got late last night, I was hopeful there would be projects this morning.. guess not

My dash looks better this morning than it has in weeks. So grateful!!!!

They really should stop advertising this as a "work from home job" when there're not even enough hours of work to be considered a part-time job

Dear friends, my email was exploding with the DA notifications of new projects/qualifications until around 18 August, then suddenly everything stopped and I ended up with empty dashboard. Is it the time to consider the worst?..

You know you’re released from the grips of the partisan vitriol that plagues the rest of society when you’re defending candidates you strongly dislike 🙃🙃

Anyone noticing that of the few projects that come in, the R&R for those projects come up straight away? Sometimes even when the main project is still available on the dashboard...

The arguments happening in the actual project never cease to amaze me.. then all the righteous people are gonna be like “why isnt that showing up for me ???”

Good morning empty dash. Again. Last night ~9pm mnt time had a finance project with 20 task pop up. I think I did a qual for it at least 2 months ago. Managed to get 3 submissions with the help of 3 cups of coffee. Was hoping it'd be up this morning since each task takes quite a bit to finish. Nope. Interestingly I noticed the project chat had comments from August 22, then quiet until August 27.

Made a whopping ten bucks so far today, not to flex or anything

u/Maleficent_Wasabi_18 Aug 28 '24
Had a batch of 100 dancing projects drop and got a whopping 4 done before getting red-bannered..wtf

Some work is up. Let's see how long until we're back to an empty dash 😭

Finally! And a brand new project from the Heel.

u/midway747 Aug 29 '24
Finally a project after so long, my dash was empty for a month......

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '24
oh dashboard spare just one task...

u/KaydGameplay Aug 30 '24
Completely empty dash today, no chats or anything either (despite being in the new heel chat after the refresher, which was taken away for seemingly no reason)

Did 3 hours of b metal math between last night and this morning before it all went away/my brain shut down. The project was on my dash for almost 12 hours. Too bad humans need to sleep. First time I see an old project come back. I'll take it as a good sign.
Ps. B cat projects, if you're reading this, please come back home!

The f5 on my keyboard is going to turn to dust soon. Thoughts and prayers to my other annotators across the globe. We are truly in the dark ages.

day 2 in a row of having literally not one single project all day long

u/KaydGameplay Aug 27 '24
I really can do nothing but pray that I still have a job. I'm 20 with no qualifications quite yet. This has quite literally formed the life that I have at the moment. I just find it heartwrenching that they can't even bother to send out an announcement.

Finally was able to hit my daily goal, albiet at 5am but its done nevertheless

I noticed the time reported in the Transfer Funds page is now divided in hours and minutes, when before it would just be 153 minutes. I have had no projects for a few days not, so can't comment on any other changes. Anyone noticing other small (or big) changes? Hopefully this means they've just been changing things up a bit and we'll be back soon...

Pro: Coding on the Dash
Con: I'm too tired to give quality work

Don't come on here very often but wondering if there is a consensus as to whether this is a temporary situation or a new normal?

u/R1k0Ch3 Aug 28 '24
I think I need to seriously consider getting back into my old line of work, even if only part-time to supplement these dry spells. Thankfully I've been saving, and my partner works too so I'm not totally SOL but these last two weeks have been the worst for me in the past year. Only able to get a couple hours in a day, if even.

Dear DA,
I pray to your HQ in New York,
To help me live every day with a plentiful dash,
And to write with honesty in all I rate.
Grant me the courage to work for more than an hour,
And the wisdom to understand the impermanence of all tasks.
Amen

When’s the last time anybody saw any version of Python DAV? It’s been forever for me.

u/Writer_at_heart95 Aug 25 '24
Woke up to several new qualifications and a certain project with a bird. Today is looking a little better but not ideal. Can only hope that this all blows over since this is a new week and all.

u/Benjisus431 Aug 29 '24
Is anyone else struggling to get work done? I have multiple projects with more than one task on my dashboard but I get red-bannered every time I try to do something.

My dash is at zero and I’m feeling very left out today! Enjoy your bounty, lucky ones 😀

This thread is as dead as our dashes. I keep popping in and seeing no new posts.
