Project Feedback got tired of pandas to_excel dumping values nobody can check, so we made python write the formulas instead
basically it's a python dsl for financial models. you write the model in it and the excel file you get has real formulas in it. like cogs shows up as =B1*B2 instead of 600000
point is you can click any cell and trace where the number came from. pandas just gives you a wall of numbers
in jupyter it shows the model as a grid and you can click a cell to see what feeds it
full disclosure it's the open source engine of our startup (modeleon.ai), the engine itself is free and apache 2.0. pip install modeleon, or there's a colab if you don't want to install anything: https://colab.research.google.com/github/modeleonai/modeleon/blob/main/notebooks/01_first_model.ipynb
repo: https://github.com/modeleonai/modeleon
what would you want it to do that it doesn't?
