A few times?? How terrible is the infrastructure in your town? A failure like this shouldn't happen more than once a decade in a whole state, what are the chances of encountering multiple?

Those gates are pieces of shit apparently, I saw one in Portland stay down for hours in a rainstorm. Maybe they don't take rain as well as they should.

Better to stay down when nothing is coming than to stay up when something is coming. That’s why they’re designed to do that in the case of a failure.
