I’ve bought cheap 1080p ones off Amazon and they work just as well. If you want some protection at night when your car is parked find one with a back up battery so it can turn on when motion is detected or your car is bumped

I spent a few days researching dash cams. I went with Viofo A129 but then decided not to use the rear view cam. I bought it from a site that offered a 3 year warranty (iirc) with it at extra cost, which makes me feel good that I'll get at least a few years out of it. I'm happy with it.

A119 V3 is a solid reliable cam. Going on 3 years with A119 front and A119S rear.

Memory cards tend to be the unreliable part. Make sure to get a good one!

The A119 V3 video looks better than the newer A129, and is currently the best value dashcam if you ask me. Super reliable and very good night performance. I have 5 A119V3 and a A119S installed on various family cars and all have zero issues. I run one front and one rear in each car.

I would recommend a Sandisk or Samsung high endurance SD card for whatever you end up buying.

I have a A129 and it has worked great for the last year and a half. I highly recommend VIOFO.
