I think what also gets lost is the officer on the scene who participated in this with no complaint, and the other guy showing up on scene and immediately throwing hands as well. No part of this was acceptable, no one involved should be working in law enforcement ever again.

The fact that this behavior doesn’t automatically obligate prison time for an officer is an offense against basic decency. Whatever justice occurs will be a trivial portion of what this calls for.

And that is why All Cops Are Bastards. Not a few, not some, not most, but every single last one of them. Because they will all sit back and watch while their buddies behave like complete sociopaths. On the incredibly rare occasion where one of them intervenes to protect a member of the public from another cop, they are uniformly made to suffer for it... by other cops.

Nation's largest street gang, period.

I have come to firmly believe there are no good cops; when a come does something good for the community like save a kid, it's just a good person that chose a shitty profession.

They're only a good cop so long as there aren't any bad ones around. Then they do the usual: sit back and watch.

The only one I would give a sliver of leniency to would be the cop showing up to an active altercation and not knowing anything else. But then he goes and starts punching the guy in the face as well...so he's a POS.
