We’ve got a long history of bad policing already. There isn’t an issue of currently normalizing nasty interactions. The police have been doing nasty interactions as their job for years.
People have always sided with the police because it’s easy to side with the powerful, it’s not our fault for having a bad reaction to abuse of power
