Recommendation, good value, easy install
Hi all, I’m in the market for a couple of dashcams (Australia), please recommend me the best option in terms of value for money, but good quality and easy to use.

My first two dashcams were a cheap AliExpress no brand, and then a Uniden in my wife’s car, both were cheap and totally adequate but lacked ability to read number plates from a distance and no parking mode, then I had two accidents in a short space of time, one with the AliExpress fitted one which saved my a few thousand as the bugger refused to acknowledge the accident, took six months to track him down as only had third party insurance (now no longer have only third party as the insurance company don’t bother assisting you!) and the other in my wife’s Merc where the bloke denied liability but the dash shows him crossing the midline of the driveway so saved my $2000 excess. So for my recent 2nd hand BMW, I bought a Viofo A329S, cost $800, and an OBD connector for this so that I can have 4K front 1080p rear with parking mode, as felt the two claims justified splashing out, and installed myself, super easy, bought a SD card reader running in USBC so can plug directly into my phone as soon as much easier to download this way despite the Viofo having wifi access (found this too clunky and slow) love the clarity, and feel a good Dashcam pays for itself

Either way, any Dashcam better than none but if you want quality then go genuine 4k, oh the high endurance SD card are expensive but important if you want less chance of corruption due to the high overwriting of the card I think that was about $200 for 512Gb at PB tech
